I want to know if anybody had treehouse or playhouse when they were growing up,just like The Waltons had a tree house. My sister and her friend made a treehouse,I don't think was ever in it.My sister and her friend also made a hay tunnel in our barn.My Dad built a playhouse for us,my grandfather helped.Ireally enjoyed playing in it,we flooded it one time,I believe we got whippings,I don't think it hurt the floor much.I think it is still standing where we used to live. Also my sister fixed a place out in our field at a big rock. She really enjoyed doing that stuff, which I didn't.

I always wanted a treehouse when I was a kid. I never got one but what my Dad ended up doing was when he built our house in 1978 (he was a carpenter) he built an open patio/covered porch on the back of the house. Then he built my brother & me a "playhouse" on the level of the roofline coming off of that. There is about 10 steps up a ladder to be on the small front porch of it. But by the time he finished it I was a teenager so I didn't do much with it. He ended up storing his tools & fishing gear in it. (Maybe that was his plan all along) LOL!!
There is a cave on the property & I would mainly explore it. People would take a rock & scratch their names & date into the walls of the cave. There are dates from the 1800's in it. I added mine years ago. Also on the property was a spot that people would bring their trash to years ago before there was such a thing as garbage pickup. I spent countless hours finding old glass clorox bottles, glass medicine bottles, glass soda bottles, glass dishes, drinking glasses, etc....and cleaning them up. I still have them all.

My dad lived on a farm and a little ways behind it was a small landfill where people took what trash they didn't burn. My grandmother pulled all sorts of things of there. She found a chair and my grandpop repaired it and grandmom reupholstered it and they had it over 40 years until they died. Grandmom found a load of shoes that a shoe store dumped. They were seconds meaning they had a slight flaw Maybe a scratch or slightly off color or whatever. She kept what she wanted for the family and gave the rest away. My dad found a rocking horse for me. All it needed was a few springs and a coat of paint and it was as good as new. I guess recycling isn't a new idea after all.

I had a playhouse type thing. It was more of shed area that nobody used. It wasn't built for kids. I actually spent more of my free time digging deep holes, out in the backyard, with my brother.

We have a summer house that we got about 15 months ago. We have a table and four chairs inside and some toys for my grandson and his ride ons, as we don't have room in the house or the garage. He loves the summer house, so now the snow has gone we will probably play in there tomorrow.
