I always enjoy the shows with scenes between these two - like the Burnout and the Christmas show. Yancy's place is a real hoot and I wonder how Eric kept a straight face through these scenes? I hope he will drop in to tell us.

I just watched the Baptism last night and Yancy getting baptized looked so fake because he brought that humor to the scene. Unfortunately, it did not look appropriate because if being baptized causes you to look like you are about to be butchered , then it is not the right decision for the time. Otherwise, Yancy makes me chuckle and his style of humor was appropriate through out the rest of the show.

It was hilarious in the burnout scene when. Ben asked Yancy where he could put his clothes and Yancy takes his clothes off the nail, drops them, and says " here you go"

those 2 played off each other well. I enjoy those scenes myself. I bet Eric has some good stories about Robert Donner.

Hey everyone- John Ritter and Bob Donner were without a doubt the two funniest guys on the set. While John would do his physical comedy and make us laugh continuously, Bob would be very serious studying his script and finding ways of fitting in something that wasn't there. He was brilliant in a totally different manner.
Prior to the Waltons, I had the opportunity of working with Jonathan Winters on a Hallmark Special and it was filmed three camera live. He is also an amazing improvisationalist and I would have to say that was my education on trying to stay straight while working with a maniac (in a nice way).
Bob was the most giving and generous actor you could ever work with. He always was perfecting his craft and encouraged other actors to "take a chance". I look back at those scenes we did with awe of his talent and the fact that i could hold my own against him. He sure was a kick and I miss him dearly.
Take care,
Eric

Thanks so much for responding Eric. You certainly did hold your own, because those scenes stand up strongly all these years later. I'm just amazed at how talented you and the others were as kids. All the best. bucky
