Today I started reading the book Carrie by Stephen King and, in his introduction, he talks about reading an article about poltergeists in the '70s which was saying that females often develop telekinetic powers just before and in the early stages of puberty and that this was often mistaken for poltergeists. I wonder if the person who wrote The Changeling had ever read that article (or the same theory in some other place) and I wonder if that was intended to be what is happening in The Waltons? I imagine people might have less problem accept telekinesis existing in the world of The Waltons, rather than poltergeists (though, both do seem misplaced. I still enjoy the episode anyway!)

Yes, I have seen it ;D I think it's an excellent film, though I find it very sad. I agree, they are very good, Sissy Spacek is also very good as Sarah in The Townie and The Odyssey, they're always episodes I look look forward to as I watch Season 1 and Season 2. I've never seen Piper Laurie in anything else though.
