From the pictures I saw I don't think he looked that bad for an 84 year old man.

I saw Joe this year and he is not looking very well at all. He was supposed to give a speech at Carolyn's reunion, but stood up and said he was not feeling well and apologized that he couldn't.

That makes me sad. Joe Conley sent me the nicest letter and picture in the mail a few years back .

Thank you for your insight Kimberly! I knew he wasn't doing very well. I just ordered his book as I meant to get a copy before I saw him again this year, so will send mine out to him to sign, and hope for the best. RYAN-J

Oh, that makes me so very sad...he always seemed so very sharp...Oh, this is my first day, first post, so I apologize if I am in the wrong spot...but did Joe every work as a song and dance man? In some of the latter episodes he did quite a nice soft shoe! P.S. If anyone can give me advice on getting around this site, I would be grateful! I am so sorry I missed the Burbank reunion.

I also noticed that Joe Conley didn't look well, and it made me very sad. However, we really don't know what the cause was. I don't want this forum to be the source of some unfounded rumor. Let's just remember what a fine actor Joe Conley was in The Waltons, and what a memorable character Ike Godsey was. We can remember him in our prayers (if you are a praying person), and wish him well, but let's not speculate on his condition when we really don't know anything about it.

I asked Joe if he can sign my original script and I knew that something wasn't right so his wife told me that he's wasn't feeling well but he was able to autographed for me and picture together. I will keep him in my prayers. I thought Ronnie Claire Edwards wasn't herself either. Myabe she's being jetlag from Dallas to Burbank on that night of the Carolyn's event..

It's so sad to see our heroes age, be it movie stars or family.... Thank you to the fans that went and gave their experiences here. It made me feel closer to Joe.

but did Joe every work as a song and dance man? In some of the latter episodes he did quite a nice soft shoe! Welcome to the Forum!! Always happy to have new members join on here! in answer to your question, yes! Joe did do a side job of Song and Dance with Eric Scott (Ben Walton) during the off-season of the Walton filming one year. They toured around the USA and even parts of the world if I remember correctly! They also released a record called 'Joe Conley and Eric Scott of the Waltons' which I've uploaded to Youtube a while back. feel free to take a listen to it! RYAN-J

I have just gone through this thread and modified several posts, including my own. There are over 600 "guests" who visit this forum every day, but never sign in or post anything. We don't know who is reading these posts. All it would take is one Hollywood reporter to read a rumor on this forum, then write about it in a tabloid. What a hurtful thing that would be to Mr. Conley, his family, and the entire cast of The Waltons. I know that everyone here posted out of concern for Joe Conley, and I hope you understand why I modified your posts.
Thank you,
Brenda

That's understandable Brenda! Is the forum no longer set on the private settings like it was before, where only registered and logged-in members could see the topics?? I thought we recently went to that format. RYAN-J

Sorry Brenda. I think we all forget that " guests" are reading our posts too. I hope we didn't start anything that could be hurtful or start rumours about Mr. Conley and his family.
