I was thinking today, wouldn't it be cool if this was made? We could find out what John-Boy did during his time writing for Stars and Stripes, and there could even be an audiobook version read by Richard Thomas (or Robert Wrightman). I'd love if this actually happened ;D

What I have found is anything around the John Boy character that does no relate to the original actor holds little fascination. I saw zero responses to your thought and appreciate the idea..smile.

Ah, fair enough, Robert Wrightman isn't for everybody! I do much prefer Richard Thomas, but I have no problem with Robert Wrightman I wonder if this will now turn into a "Which John-Boy is best?" thread

Perhaps any thread which mentions both Richard Thomas and Robert Wightman (I need to remember that there is no R in his surname!) is doomed to turn into one.

"What I have found is anything around the John Boy character that does no relate to the original actor holds little fascination" -But the journal doesn't necessarily have to be owned/written by the new john boy. We hear about the journal long before we meet the new john boy. During the original airing of the show, I always pictured RT as the writer of the journal.

Heh yes, well, in my imaginary project, it would have been Richard Thomas, I only mentioned Robert Wightman as an alternative and to at least acknowledge it was his John-Boy we saw during the war. If it was within my power to make this actually happen, I would definitely pick Richard Thomas though.

I think it would be a really interesting story. I'd attempt to write some fanfic, but am not all that talented in that direction.

Why don't we ask Brenda to make a Best John Boy poll and settle the question once and for all?

I wish Earl had thought of coming out with a book entitled, "John-Boy's War Journal." Let's face it, none of us could come close !!!
