Where does the road that's between the house and the barn lead to? Was this the road they took going to Ike's store?

I asked a security personel that same question grtgzu and he told me it just wraps up and around and leads back out to the road where we came in at. The current location of the Walton house is a bit different from the original show as they moved the house later on after the series wrapped to this new spot on the Warner Bros. Ranch, but tried to mimick what it looked like when it used to sit at the main studios. and YES! that was James Bond III! He was never scheduled to attend, so to see him was a great surprise! Unfortunately he left before I had a chance to talk with him, but I did see lots of people asking him about his role and if he still played the trumpet, and from the sounds of it he does! RYAN-J

Good on JB III - I knew that kid (can't really call him that anymore) had talent in more ways than one, when I first saw him on the show....

Perhaps James Bond III was the mystery guest after all!

There was actually several unexpected guests who showed up! James Bond III & Sally Boyden were never mentioned in the commitments, so was very surprised to see them! unfortunately missed meeting them both as they left during the banquet. RYAN-J

I did get to speak with James Bond, III and he says that he is indeed still in the business and is working on various projects at the moment. He indicated that in The Waltons' episode "The Festival" he indeed played the trumpet but no longer plays it.
I also got an opportunity to speak both evenings with Sally Boyden, who played Tess in The Waltons' "The Children's Carol", and she was really nice. She said that she has been a singer/songwriter for a while now.

James Bond III. Not anything to do with the other James Bond I'm sure. Still I never knew he is the one who plays the trumpet on the Waltons theme. We learn something new every day. Cool! Talk soon. waltonsportwriter/wmfan

wmfan James Bond III was the young boy who played Josh in The Festival. He played the trumpet with Jason at the Festival audition and they didn't want Josh because of his race so Jason didn't play in it either. Jason then held his own Festival which Josh eventually agreed to play in.
