For any of you that grew up on a farm. How often do dairy cows have to be pregnant for you to be able to milk them on a regular basis? Like say Chance for example. During the course of the show, their were two calfs born. And I do remember that their were two seperate cows named Chance. Chance 1 had Bullet and Chance 2 had Dynamite. Now I know that what was shown on the show was not nesessarily how a real farm works.
Was Dynamite a girl or boy calf?

Once every 13-14 months, for about 4-5 years, then they are usually culled for meat. Of course that's larger dairies, I'm sure a family cow would be around longer, as cows can live for 20 years.

About once a year but the cow will stop producing milk about 2 months before the cafe is born.
Most cows only produce milk for about 10 years then the milk supply drops off to where it's to expensive to feed. A milk cow will eat about 80 to 100 pounds of feed a day
For Chance to die of old age yet still be production milk isn't very realistic.
