Greetings Waltons Fans!
Just last night, my husband saw the commercial advertising the 40th Waltons reunion and voila, a day later, I've got my flight and hotel booked! I'm SUPER, SUPER, SUPER excited!
I know that there are a few events throughout Friday the 28th and the evening of the 29th. But are there any informal ones perhaps on Thursday the 27th and/or Saturday day?
I ask because I'm going to LA solo but looking to join some fun.
Please advise!
Thanks,
M

I'm attending Carolyn's Reunion which is on the 28th, and will be flying in the 27th around evening time. I plan on doing a lot of regular sight-seeing of the LA and Hollywood area after we visit the Walton House at the Warner Bros. Ranch, such as the Grauman's Chinese Theatre and a trip the Hollywood sign with some friends. Saturday is probably the day I'll be doing the most sight-seeing as Ray's Reunion doesn't start till 6:00pm if I remember correctly. RYAN-J

I'm coming solo as well, and expect to roll into town mid-afternoon on Thursday!
Super excited myself!
Nothing besides the fan club event, the house tour and the fundraiser going on that I know of. But I bet we forumites will hang out at some point.

I hope we get to "hang" out together with "forumites" too! My husband & I will also be flying in on Thursday evening the 27th if there is no flight delays. As far as I know this will be the only time ever in my life that I will get to go to California so I want to see the Hollywood Sign & Grauman's Chinese Theatre also!! I don't know if that will be Thursday evening,on Friday between the House tour (don't know how long that might last) and the reunion dinner or early Saturday morning.
Can hardly wait for Friday's reunion dinner at the Holiday Inn (we are also staying there). The will call tables are open from 3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Saturday for Kami's event with the cast of The Waltons & special guests arriving on the red carpet at 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. The program starts at 6:00 p.m.
On Sunday the 30th after church, my husband & I are flying to San Francisco to see the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 with the sea lions, Alcatraz, Chinatown, see Lombard Street (it's the crookest mile in the world), ride the cable cars, etc...We are suppose to get there about 4:00 p.m. on Sunday & we are flying home at 12:05 a.m. (yes, midnight!) on Tuesday morning October 2nd. So we will be in San Francisco for only about 32 hours.
I would love to find the time to visit Will Geer's Theatre (maybe by a miracle, I will find time Friday or Saturday???). **I would also love to see the giant Sequoia trees but that is probably out of the question.
Edit for the following info: **We ended up getting to go to Muir Woods, so we got to see some giant trees. Unfortunately, we didn't get to visit Will Geer's Theatre.

I'm staying at the Holiday Inn too on Thursday, Friday and probably Saturday night. We could converge in the lounge and run all of the other guests out with our Walton talk LOL.

Right now on American Airlines you can fly from Los Angeles (LAX) to San Francisco (SFO) airport for $78.00 a person. The flight is suppose to take one hour. We chose to do that because it will save renting a car, gas for a 4 to 5 hour drive (we can use that time in San Fran instead of on the road), probably a meal on the way.....then if we drove we would turn in the rental car in SF because all of the parking fees are not only high but they have limited parking. It's cheaper to take the "subway" ($10.50 per person round trip versus $44.00 one way in a taxi) from the airport to SF & then buy either an all day pass or a two day pass to ride on the cable cars. If you want anymore info: cable car costs, what part of SF to avoid because of crime, etc...Please PM me. I have researched SF intensively.... If you choose to fly to SF I can also tell you where to get off on the "subway" and then the best place to go hail a taxi to your hotel/motel or catch the cable car.
