As I said I can't see Ike in a city or leaving the Mountain. Ike's Mountain there you go. In Founders Day he wanted it to be Godseys Mountain Baldwins Mountain LOL. To each of them it was their own mountain! wmsportwriter : ;D

I can easily imagine a show starring Joe and Ronnie set in a small town anywhere -- New England coastline, Arizona desert town, wherever...... who knows what may have caused their move away from Waltons Mountain; could be anything.......

Actually I think because godsey's store was such an integral part of the mountain they could have done a spinoff right there on waltons mountain. Ike and corabeth could have done both shows. And just think of the extra times we could have seen more of the baldwins, Verdi, Yancy, etc. Oh well..one can always dream

Well, Marilyn, that's why you send Ike and Corabeth to Charlottesville. Plenty of mountains and hills nearby; plus, being in a town loaded with snobs and wanna-be snobs like Corabeth only makes sense.

I look at spinoffs as a way to start something totally new, fresh, different -- I wouldn't want it to be another "Waltons" but something totally removed from that, keeping only the personallities of Ike and Corabeth...... with all kinds of creative possibilities......
I also think Joe and Ronnie would not have wanted to stay on those coattails, but to prove they can do something different....

Interesting talk about spinoff possibilities . How about one of the Walton's John Boy in New York. Dewlanna would love that! Best wishes waltonsportwriter

Jeri and Wmfan..you are both correct in spinoff ideas and I am just tagging on how back in the 60s they did Petticoat Junction, BH and Green Acres with a lot of bleed over. PLEASE know I am not comparing..just thinking..lol. Great to see healthy dialogue! I am enjoying and hope I contribute as well.

I think that in order to create a spin-off series on Ike and Corabeth's store it would have taxed a movie producer's and script writer's imagination in the way of providing all the stories neccessary to keep such a series running for any length of time. The idea is interesting, but let's think about it....what stories can we all come up with for Ike and Corabeth's little store?

Plus, also remember, that John and Grandpa said the exact same thing about their family!

Any good ideas on episodes for the Ike's General Store spinoff idea? please share, because I don't think it would work.

Very few spin-off attempts succeed for any length of time.... I don't think producers/writers start out with a whole slew of script ideas. It must evolve slowly, using any successes to build on..... Occasionally it works.... I think Ike and CoraBeth are unique enough to stimulate good creativity. My personal approach would be to really get into their day-to-day lives. Considering their personalities, it could be hilarious !!
Even if short-lived, I think an Ike spin-off would have been a worthy pursuit.
