For me, the things to take away from the show are to always search for truth, to accept all of those who are different/believe different things to you, and the cherish your time with loved ones since nobody is there forever! What are the main 'messages' that you take away from the show?

The Waltons mean FAMILY to me. The way they loved each other, took care of each other. Family all living together (3 geneantions, all under one roof.) Just an example of what Family should really be like.

Peace, relaxation, escape to a seemingly simpler time!

I agree with flyaway. I always feel transported to a simpler time. I can actually forget my worries of the day. I mostly love how they are a type of family who is always there for each other no matter what. Overall they just make me feel better and want to be a better person.

I know the Walton's make me relax, think about good or simple things in a time when we were outdoors and not have this modern conveniences. it's like going to a log cabin for a weekend, week whatever and we enjoy an hour or two or a marathon with them. It never gets old. and finally the family and faith. I love the Walton's every time I hear that theme and see the show. Best wishes waltonsportwriter

A bit like a stroll through a gallery of paintings by your favourite artist. Except these pictures invite you in as you pass by.

The Waltons are like family to me.
No matter how bad the real world is sucking, things are always peaceful and filled with love on Walton's Mountain.

Hearing the theme music is a comfort. The Waltons take me back to a better time in my life with my late family. I grew up watching the original episodes and remembering my youth while crushing on John Boy . It reminds me of simpler days, no worries and having all my family with me. Sometimes I'm brought to tears by moments that really touch me.

I used the Waltons to help me quit smoking. I kept picturing the scene where Ben and Grandpa were smoking.
