I hope they show the sequel sometime. Did any of you know that the BBC made a version of Anne of Green Gables in the seventies and that all copies of it were destroyed. Such a shame.

Saw that and forgot to record it. At 10PM, I'd fall asleep about 5 minutes into the film. Did get to record a few of the Ginger Rogers films that were on TCM yesterday.

I have never seen it. Is it a "girls" show? It looks kinda "girly' to me. Is it as girly as "little women" ?

I have never seen it. Is it a "girls" show? It looks kinda "girly' to me. Is it as girly as "little women" ? Yes, I suspect girlies might like it more than would little boys...... On the other hand, if one likes excellent work by actors like Richard Farnsworth and Colleen Dewhurst, or the fine writing by Lucy Maud Montgomery, or the beauty of Prince Edward Island, it's really no more "girlie" than The Waltons...... And, every episode has notable quotes one may want to remember.... from last night: Marilla to Anne when she complains of being in the "depth of despair" (in her funny, overly dramatic way) ..... TO DESPAIR IS TO TURN YOUR BACK ON GOD. A good one to ponder, I thought.....

I love Anne of Green Gables. I watched it again last night for about the 100th time, and every time I watch it, I want to go back to Prince Edward Island. Maybe next summer...

There is a fourth movie in the Anne of Green Gables series. It is not written by LM Montgomery. It is written by Kevin Sullivan he wrote the book and the movie titled Anne of Green Gables: A new beginning. This is the story of the life of Anne Shirley before she went to live with Matthew and Marilla. As seen through the eyes of Kevin Sullivan. I've only see the movie on DVD, it happly adapts to the original Anne stories. I have the book too. Can't wait to find the time to read it.
