Was listening to Merle Haggard sing this today. I knbow Jason sang but was tghere any song that re-occurred throught the series? And did anyone have a 'family song' in their family? For me well my Dad would sing 'I Belong To Glasgow' even though we are not Scottish.

My family always sang, all the time! Dad had a beautiful voice (baritone) and his brother played piano by ear...... Dad had voice lessons as a child, did boy soprano solos in churches all over the city.
As a young adult, he was on the radio a few times and almost went pro but then met Mom and had to get a real job..... He continued to sing in church choir, local glee club, a group he put together at work, as well as two huge concerts a year with a choral group of over 100 men at The Brooklyn Academy of Music. Made extra money to put shoes on our feet by doing weddings, etc..... VERY PROUD OF HIM !
I think one of the saddest "evolutions" nowadays is that people don't sing very much anymore. At one time, it brought family and friends, together -- folks sang together, "took" an instrument during childhood, learned to dance, etc. ..... all for their own entertainment. Made for close, fuller and happier times. Of course, television, stereos then other music makers, and computers, have taken over the world now. And most of are alone when we use such "machines"......
I've got a Baldwin spinet I'd like to get rid of (hubby played, I don't), but you can't even give 'em away nowadays. I've even offered to pay for a moving van, but can't find a taker. Sad...... and unbelievable to me.......

"In The Pines , In The Pines" , where the sun never shine's , and you shiver when the cold wind blow's.
Sissy Spacek sang it in "Coal Miner's Daughter" .
