that GW left to Erin in his will? Did she ever do anything with it? It was so sad when he was killed - I almost couldn't watch it again yesterday....

I think Erin felt really guilty that GW joined the military and went off to war because Erin Turned down his Marriage offer. He was a good hearted kid , abit on the immature side though.
I think Erin should have re-willed the land back to his family , it wouldn't be right to accept that due to the fact she turned him down.

Any episode that deal's with the death of a human or a pet is devestating to watch on tv.
And i'll admit , I cry too.

I dunno...I thought Erin was sort of fickle with GW....He was such a sweet guy too...Maybe a little "dim", but still adorable....And I coulda just slapped Jim Bob for calling him dumb because he couldn't talk about "army business"....Papa Johm must not have told him to not be asking such questions....But you'd think he shut up after the 1st time GW told him he couldn't talk about it....

Jim Bob was acting like a typical kid and just plain didn't know any better. Erin didn't love GW, but you could tell she really wanted to because he was such a good person. She tried...

Didn't Mary Ellen pretty much treat GW the same way? Good guys are frequently taken for granted.....

Good Guy's are frequently regarded as Dull , same old rountine they display daily. Not fun and out going. You know their daily schedules. Get up , milk the cow , hoe corn , get $2.00 in gasoline , come take the girlfriend out to a movie and pop corn and go home and repeat the schedule tomorrow. Yep , That's Pretty Dull.

Very sad episode when GW died but it was war and they had to make it realistic. Thats just the way romance goes sometime like between GW and Erin. It didn't work out not why he was killed. waltonsportwriter

Yeah, but, those "dull" guys can fool ya! Hidden traits that appear slowly...... can be a lot of fun if you "hang in." Takes patience.
