With the success of The Walton's, I'm trying to find out how the stories were created and developed. Did Earl Hamner write short stories that told this history of his family? Is everyone taken from "Spencer's Mountain" and "The Homecoming?"
I'm just wondering if there are books that tell more of the Hamner stories that could be found. I'd love to read about the time period, and the (hopefully) expanded stories of the Hamners.

So... Nothing? Are the Waltons' stories from television the only stories?

Check out all the info on the-waltons.com...... especially regarding Hamner. Takes a while to click through the various sites, but it's worth the journey. I (or others) could look it up for you, but you'll have more fun on your own !!
Hard to say why little attention was given to your post. Usually, there seems to be no rhyme or reason. Unfortunately, I think sometimes folks don't answer questions like yours because a subject has been covered widely in the past. At least you will be able to find your answers in other ways.
