My 2 granddaughters had the opportunity to meet Alison Arngrim earlier this month, so I thought I'd share a couple of photos. This is my 10 year old granddaughter Emily. And this is my 5 year old granddaughter, Hope.

Those are great pictures Brenda! Your grandchildren are really cute! That's great they got to meet her. I read her book, and she sounds so nice and down to earth.

My 2 daughters went to a Laura Ingalls Wilder conference in Mankato, MN, and took their children with them. That's where the girls met Alison Arngrim. Apparently Alison spent some time with the children who were there, talking to them about Nellie and her role on the TV show. Emily (age 10), told me that Alison had them act out a scene from an episode. She assigned each of them a part and helped them act it out. The kids loved her.

Brenda, I'm sure the girls enjoyed this, cute pics! I got a fb notice from Melissa Sue Anderson about the Mankato event. She sent a notice today that Allison would be at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Days this weekend at Heritage Hill State Historical Park. www.heritagehillgb.orgI haven't read Allison's book, need to order it. From interviews I've seem she seem really kind.

Brenda your granddaughters are very cute! I'm sure they enjoyed meeting Alison. She seems to be a really nice genuine person, nothing at all like Nellie Oleson!
I have read her book (definitely don't let your granddaughters read it...talks alot about adult topics) & I have also read Melissa Gilbert's & Melissa Sue Anderson's.
Melissa Sue basically just wasted paper in my opinion. Melissa Gilbert's was about a 6 or 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, but now I highly enjoyed Alison's book, hers blew both Melissas away!
Back in 1992 (before we had any kids) my husband & I visited Mansfield Missouri to visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder home & museum. This is the house Laura & Almonzo lived out the rest of their lives in & it is also were Laura wrote her Little House on the Prairie books. Laura was very short in real life & Almonzo customized the kitchen counters for Laura. The average counter is about 36 inches (3 ft.) & these were about 30 inches. Kitchen counters come to my waist, hers came to about mid way between my knee & hip.
Almonzo, Laura & their daughter Rose are buried close by in the Mansfield cemetery. We visited their graves and paid our respects.
