I cant find the post quickly but I know its in here asking about the Waltons Heritage. I was watching the Pony Cart and Martha Corrine said they were English. I dont know how much but I heard a few English references in the show when it came to the Waltons. I'm sure they had other heritage too but Martha Corrine said they were English when she gave John Boy his family history papers in the shed. Anyone with more info let us know. Talk soon. They could have been German, Irish, Scotish who knows. Best wishes and goodnight. waltonsportwriter

The name Walton is basically English. I say basically because families in the British Isles moved so much between England/ Ireland/ Scotland/ Wales -- it's never really "documented." We always thought my father's paternal side was Irish, until I got into the whole ancestry thing and discovered that, if you go back far enough, like to about 800 AD, the name appears to have actually originated in Scotland..... but that says little about a specific "homeland."
I think there was some mention that Walton ancestors did immigrate from England.... but even that may mean that they took the boat from there.... may have had to travel from elsewhere.... 'tho the ship's documents may have required actual place of residence..... and sometimes people were attempting to hide their actual homeland.....
If the episodes report English, we'll stick with that !!

I was always a bit confused by what Martha Corrine said about that because she spoke of her family roots as well. Although she was the foremost authority on all Walton History I am going with English.

I know I got a comment from someone in Scotland recently when Andy Murray A Scotsman was playing in the Wimbledon Finals and representing Great Britian though this Scotish person made a clear distiction between Scotland and England. Ireland too. It goes way way back obviously and there is some confusion definitely
