do you guys respond to preachers like that guy in "the Baptism" ?
I think a little of that goes a long way, I couldnt hack "being shouted at" every week. Once in awhile isnt too bad. I guess that is why he is a traveling evangelist.
Personally, I couldnt go to a place where I was told that I was a no-good sinner in a firey tone every week.

I grew up in a Baptist church where we would have "revival" services that lasted a week or two, twice a year. Visiting evangelists would come and preach about sin, and sometimes they shouted, but I don't think we ever had one as loud and dramatic as Rev. Henshaw. It wasn't a weekly occurrence though, just twice a year for a few nights.

When I was about 12 years old, I fell asleep in church. At the end of the prayer when the men all said Amen together......that woke me up & I shouted really loud, "AMEN!" I mean I screamed it! Everybody looked at me. I was sooo embarrassed & I believe I will remember that until my dying day! LOL!!

I couldn't go for the being shouted at personally. I didn't like how John Sr was singled out. It sure started trouble with John and Livvy.

I've never even known what that statement means. When you are sinning, you are in the center of sin.

I believe in God, but i got serious questions about heaven and hell. for instance, lets say i am saved and i go to heaven, but i have a kid who isn't and he or she goes to hell... How is heaven gonna be some paradise knowing that my kid is burning in hell for eternity? that is why I think that people in heaven aren't gonna remember this world at all. and another thing, some churches or religions believe that once you are saved that it technically doesn't matter what you do the rest of your life after wards. You are going to heaven. They say it doesn't mean you have a "license to sin", but it sounds exactly like that to me. When you ask questions like this on a public forum that is made up of people from all different religions and backgrounds, you are going to get all kinds of answers. And everyone will believe their answer is the right one. After all, they wouldn't believe it if they didn't think it was right. I don't mind you asking the questions, but I want to avoid a lot of arguing about religion. So, anyone who answers his questions, please be aware that some people are going to disagree with you. Please be respectful of each other's beliefs.
