Did the entire family learn about Jim Bob's twin dying or just Jim Bob and John Boy in this episode?

I was so confused on that. I am sure if not all the kids wondered what was going on with the special dinner. Erin did ask Grandma why they were using the nice tablecloth. I believe her reply was she just wanted things to look nice..... I felt it kinda left people hanging.

I'm going to write the next scene by saying that during dinner that evening, the rest of the family was told the secret. You know the other children were asking, "What in the world is going on???". They had to tell them.
I think the scene where JimBob walks into the house and straight to his mother, giving her a hug, is one of my favorite scenes of the entire series.

I agree Brenda. That scene is a tear jerker for me. You did a great job also on writing the ending!

I thought it was just me and that I missed something. I thought in a later episode that Mary Ellen (or Erin) mentions something about it.

Did the entire family learn about Jim Bob's twin dying or just Jim Bob and John Boy in this episode? Okay, I just watched that episode again, and after listening to Earl Hamner's narration at the end, the implication is that the entire family learned the secret. "The most valuable truth that all of us learned when that secret was finally revealed is that belonging to a family has less to do with being born than being loved. And with all the hurts and fears and wants we might remember from those Depression years, being loved is what we remember the best."
