Hi everyone,
I'm from Italia, and I am a big fan of the american TV shows made in the '70 and '80. Unfortunately our TVs broadcast them rarely, so I watch them in original language (DVD's and Internet have been a GREAT invention!).
Now I've been watching "All in the family", and a very rare TV show that I remembered very well, "When things were rotten". Well, I noticed that in both of these series there are two direct and pretty clear allusions (by the way, very funny!) to The Waltons.
I don't know how to show you that, but for those who are interested and who have the possibility to watch them, the two episodes are:
All in the family: Season 5, episode 7: Gloria's shock (Archie's talk about The waltons); When things were rotten: Season 1, episode 9: Quarantine (the "goodnight scene", at the end of the episode, is a very funny parody).
If somebody knows other TV shows which made hints to The Waltons, I would be glad to know them.
Ciao from Italy

What a coincidence!
Last night I watched another TV show where there is a hint to The Waltons: Silver spoons: Season 2, episode 8: Happy birthday (in the dialogue between Rick and his father).

We all probably recall the Carol Burnett parody where she calls the Waltons The Walnuts and calls John boy John Girl

On Michael Learned's site there is a showreel - only found it last night but the first clip of her work shown on it, she's talking to a young lady playing her daughter, I think, I feel that this is Leslie Winson (Cindy) is that right? I love it when interlinked actors meet up again in other shows - warm n fuzzy!

I remember that Carol Burnett episode, very funny! The Rhoda show also made mention of the Waltons twice I think.

Dang it...I was watching something recently (can't remember what now) and they mentioned the Waltons. I hate it when I can't remember something. I do remember perking up when I heard them mentioning the Waltons though.

There is one episode of Last of the Summer Wine in which 3 of the AYBS? actors are reunited; Trevor Bannister who played Mr. Lucas, Nicolas Smith who played Mr. Rumbald, and Frank Thornton who played Capt. Peacock all appeared in an episode of LOTSW. The last 2 seasons of LOTSW Trevor and Frank had regular parts. Sad thing is, only Nicolas Smith and Frank Thornton are the only actors living from ARBS? now.
