I've been thinking of buying the Waltons Christmas CD (Together Again I think it's called) so I can have it for the coming Christmas months. But as I live in the UK I have to buy it from the American Amazon and pay a lot for postage, can somebody tell me which cast members are singing on it and whether it's worth the rather costly ammount?

All the voices on the CD are theirs. I have it and it's pretty good.

I beg to differ, I have the CD too and listened to it once. As much as I love the Waltons, it's painfully bad.. the intonation is all over the place, and most of the singing is in unison. There are no dynamics and the sound quality isn't very good. Honesty, you can HAVE mine. I tossed the jewel case but I can probably locate one and send you the CD. email me at nobgoblin@comcast.net. Merry Christmas!

They aren't professional singers. They're singing together as the Waltons might...so it's natural and not perfect, but I love it. My CD has good sound. It's like you're sitting in the living room listening to them as they're gathered around the piano. All natural and authentic.

Mine is called simply "A Walton's Christmas"
I just listened to the song "Christmas times a coming" and there is a lot of twang to it. I guess this was done on purpose as I can not imagine David Harper singing like that on his own.
Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, music is in the ear of the beholder.
Hey, its not going to cost you and arm and leg and if you do not like, don't listen to it again.
And no, I would not crank this sup o anybody else would hear, because they would not understand that I was listening to my favorite TV family singing. It can be pretty bad in spots but so can most families singing around the piano.

@scarlett O'Hara
David Harper can sing? I thought he might be able to, with a voice like his, but I wasn't sure to what degree. How good is David's voice? Can he carry a tune, or does he sound more like Richard Thomas singing along with his mandolin (i.e., voice straining/cracking every few notes).
As a Jim-Bob/David fan, this just about blows my mind. Hmmm ... I may have to pursue that CD one of these days.

Actually I remember one episode where Jim Bob sang a song on his own. Can't remember the name of the episode but it was the one where he fell in love with the married woman and the woman's husband got killed. The words of the song were Up She Goes. He didn't sound bad at all to me.

I haven't listened to the CD for a long time, but seems to me they sing all at the same time on some of them. I have to look for that thing now.. where is it??

I just ordered my Waltons Christmas CD from Amazon a couple days ago, it's used and from a Goodwill store in Iowa, cost $.50. The shipping was 7 times the cost of the CD, but still cheaper than going out and buying a new CD of a different group. I can't wait to get - I will play it right away and start getting the Christmas Spirit in October . Marilyn, I haven't ordered that DVD from VPT yet, but it's on my list of goodies I would like to get my hands on - how was it?

Bmcgill--That song David Harper sang was something about Josephine and her Flying Machine. Right up old Jim Bob's alley.
I watched The Love Story last night, and didn't recall all the singing Richard Thomas did in it. Does anyone recall any other episodes where Richard solo'ed?
