It's a good thing you didn't waste money on the sponsorship. It was a rip off. You got as good with the $20 ticket as the $300 except for a lousy luncheon that left you hungry.

The show last night was awesome. Seeing "The Homecoming" with the cast was awesome. The Q&A session with the cast was really cool. Richard Thomas did a great job reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas". The entire cast looked great. Especially, Ms. Learned. Jon and Judy did a great job singing. The cast was very pleasant to everyone. As for the people who paid the $150 a person for the sponsorship, YES MANY PEOPLE WERE COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF IN MANY WAYS. IT WAS VERY SAD. IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE LOVE THE CAST SHOWED EVERYONE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT LOSS TO WE FANS WHO PAYED THAT MONEY!

Sorry to hear that many of the sponsors did not get what they payed for. That's what I've been hearing from others who went as well. I'm sorta glad I ended not going as I would have been disappointed if the fans didn't get what was offered. RYAN-J

As I understand "sponsorships", the purpose of them is to come up with enough money to have the event at all..... it's a "charitable contribution" if you will, usually offering something additional but not necessarily.....
It sounds like the "General Admission" of $20 was well worth it !!! Several weeks ago when a member was complaining about the $300 cost (for two people), I explained the $20 tickets.... but felt like no one was paying attention to me.....

I am sorry to hear that many guests of the New Jersey event are disappointed that they didn´t get what they thought they have paid for. But I hope they had the possibility to chat with the cast members and enjoyed the evening anyway.

Please note; I beleive some of the problems with the NJ sponsorships were people not being notified by e-mail about certain events and the NBC studio event being cancelled and some people just plain not be notified.

I heard the sponsors were suppose to get autographed CD's by Earl Hamner and some weren't even autographed. Also. heard a fan trip to NBC was on the itinerary and never happended. That is sad.

My husband and I were fortunate to attend the Homecoming 40th. Some dear friends went with us. We purchased only the basic ticket, but the event was FAR above my expectations. What a thrill to actually watch The Homecoming on the big screen with the cast. The cast Q&A was so much fun to watch, and Jon "Jason" did a wonderful job on his Christmas song. Would like to get the CD. I felt this was a great experience and would do it again! Sorry for those who spent the extra and were not satisfied.
