both appeared in the old Jimmy Stewart classic "It's a Wonderful Life"? I forget her real name, but Martha Corrine played his mother and geeze, can't think of Grandma's real name at the moment, but she played a bit part of the lady who only asked for a fraction of her account when they were having a run on the bank. Jimmy Stewart gave her an unscripted kiss on the cheek because she was so sweet, and it stayed in the movie! I think these two ladies are both great actresses. I wonder if they ever talked about it, or even realized they had worked "together" many years before The Waltons? Does anyone know?

Don't take this wrong and accuse me of "making a personal attack"...................but just because you know something, or know that something has been "discussed many, many times", does not mean that everyone else knows the same info, or has read every thread on this forum. If some of these topics are getting old for you may I suggest you take a break from the forum for awhile? That's what I do when I feel I'm not getting any new info - just take a break for a bit, come back at a later time and catch up on what I have missed. There is always some bit of info I gain here, no matter how much I think I may already know. Everyone is at a different level of learning and knowledge when it comes to The Waltons - and to life, for that matter.

We have discussed this before, but I had forgotten about it, so I am glad you brought it up again. I am always interested in any post about Waltons cast members appearing in other movies or TV shows. It always makes for a good discussion, and there is always the chance that someone will learn something new. I didn't know that the kiss Jimmy Stewart gave Ellen Corby was unscripted. I agree, they were both great actresses. Brenda

I just noticed, the original post in this thread was from nearly 2 years ago. Maybe that was when we discussed it before. Brenda

deniseh, I wasn't aware of the unscripted kiss. It's fun to know those little details.

It's possible that while they were in the same movie that they never actually saw each other on the set as they could have filmed on different days. Since Ellen only had a bit part her scene may have taken only a day or less to shoot
