Ok, you can call me obsessive, haha. I always look at the obituaries every day. Today I read that actress Beth Peters, known for an episode arc on GENERAL HOSPITAL, passed away at age 92 on March 14. She also appeared in season 4 episode of THE WALTONS, "The Fledgling" as the "Woman in line." Yes, that's how she was credited. It is the episode in which John-Boy takes a job outside of Walton's Mountain in order to raise money to buy the printing press.

I’m not sure, but I believe that is Billie Bird. She is listed as the character Mrs. Cox in “The Fledgling” episode. She also appeared in “The Career Girl” in Season 5 as the woman who ran the truck stop/diner where Erin got a job. Here she is in that episode.

Yes, that looks like it could be her. Here is her IMDB profile: www.imdb.com/name/nm0676343/Her character “woman in line” on The Waltons is more specific than her character on a Bonanza episode where her character was merely “woman”.

I'm thinking Beth Peters given her age. The first 'woman in line' would be too old
