I noticed that forum member “Whisper” has deleted her account, and I have no idea why. It makes me very sad that she has chosen to leave us. I always enjoyed reading her forum posts, and I will miss her. I don’t even know her real name or have any contact info for her. 😥
Whisper, if you happen to see this, please know that you are welcome to return to the forum. You are missed!

It was my fault, apparently. In the 'Other Topics' forum, I posted about an article I had read from the BBC discussing how the apostrophe was being 'murdered' in the UK. (It really is an interesting article.) I've considered Whisper a friend for quite some time, but she seemed to take the thread as a personal attack. Next thing I knew, she had deleted her account. She must have taken something I said personally.

I am not entirely sure why she left. Missing her already. She was one of my friends on personal messages and reasonably close to me geographically. Wish she would come back !!!!!

Hello again!. My apologies for flouncing off in a hissy fit. I know there are a lot of learned people on the forum, and it sometimes makes me a little nervous about posting, as I know I make mistakes. Easton the problem is mine, not yours. It doesn't take much to be catapulted right back to a classroom in 1969. The teacher holding my essay aloft with her finger and thumb, asking "and whooo's is this" and having to stand up and claim it. Thank goodness dyslexia recognised now. Anyway, I missed you guys ... and I've lost my bally stars now I'm a newbie again xx

My eyes are blurry as I type this, Whisper. I was so happy to see your name again.
I don't think anyone here would hold dyslexia against you. I studied it in university back when psychologists were still trying to figure out what it was. A good friend of mine is dyslexic. He's in his 50s now and is still unable to read. In grade school, his teachers would simply pass him to the next grade so they wouldn't have to deal with him for another year. I pray you didn't suffer the same treatment.
Please don't be afraid to post. No matter what you may think of the results, know that it is what you say that is important, not how you say it.
Welcome back.

I would give them back to you if I could. Anyway, no one here is going to take out their red marking pen and correct your posts, so no worries there. We’re here because of our love of The Waltons. Welcome back. ♥️

Aah thank you Easton. I have to admit school was pretty grim!. I skipped school constantly, for weeks at a time. I became very adept at intercepting the post, and hiding letters from the authorities. By 15 I was on a slippery slope, smoking, drinking, petty theft. Fortunately my love of dogs saved me. The lady who came to our home to groom our Poodle offered me a job at her boarding kennels, I of course jumped at the chance. She taught me how to groom, and by 18 I was self-employed, and have been ever since .

I'm so glad you decided to return. A warm Nebraska welcome goes your way! Don't worry about the "hissy" fit I've been known to throw a few myself.
