Thanks. That was nice. Even Rich says it was a bad idea putting someone else in that role, more or less. Wish Rich hadn't left but when he did maybe it would have been better to take the character out. Still, that would have made the reunion films not so good. I prefer the films with him in

They couldn't have killed him off anyway. Needs to be alive to continue with diary and write the book and tell the story. I have it. He moved to London. There you go. Problem solved. I always wondered anyway how John boy continued to write diaries as he wasn't there for so long. I suppose with artistic licence being stretched a bit his siblings could have told him the stories when they had aii grown up. Or maybe Olivia kept him up to date with home news.

I love MASH. It has been said by the writers, producers, directors and fellow cast members that MASH would not be MASH without Alan Alda. Correct !!!! I also feel the same about The Waltons. It is not the same without Richard Thomas !!!!
