I am a new member. About two weeks. I am getting the hang of this now even though I am not geeky. However, I still don't understand what following or having followers implies or refers to. In what way does following or having followers make a difference to not being a follower or having followers ? Please explain. Thanks

Followers means the number of people who follow you.

Obviously I know that. I know what it means, but I don't see what use it has other than being able to have a quick look at posts, replies and likes. Does it have any other use or purpose is what I was enquiring about

Does it have any other use or purpose is what I was enquiring about I've never really figured it out -- don't see a good reason for using it, if you're keeping up frequently with the forum.... A good "forum citizen" reads EVERY members' postings, I would think......

Hi Jeri jet. I have it figured out now. The only purpose it serves is so that you can have a quick look/reminder of posts, replies and likes. Useful I suppose. Just go into your profile and click on followers tab. Thanks for your reply

It is a feature of the Proboards software. I suppose in very active forums where there are many members who post regularly, it might be useful if you have a few “friends” that you prefer to interact with. But on our little forum, I’ve never found much use for the feature. I like to think all the members who post here are our friends. I find the “Recent Threads” tab is the best way for me to keep up with new forum activity. I want to read everyone’s posts.

Hi Brenda. I did not think of using "recent threads" tab. Then again, I am not geeky. Brilliant idea !!!! Thanks Brenda. X
