I'll believe it when it happens.... seems to me that there's always a list of attendees which eventually dwindles dramatically.... some fingers need to be crossed !

Sounds like quite a nice group. It should be a fun event! And the new B&B is accepting reservations for dates starting in November.

How far is it from Lynchburg to the Bed and Breakfast in Schuyler. Just curious.

How far is it from Lynchburg to the Bed and Breakfast in Schuyler. Just curious. I think it's about 50-55 miles.... By now (2am EDT), it must be obvious to you that I'm having trouble getting to sleep tonight! About to try again....

Hi Jeri jet. Thanx. Hope you got some sleep.I am usually up late but difficult to sleep at moment anyway due to this heat wave we are having at the moment in England Me, too -- just went through 5 days of 90-degrees-plus, with temp/humidity index making it feel like 105... at my age, not a happy camper and even a bit frightened.

I am sure you know this Jeri but drink a lot of water (not the recipe - hehe) and a cool damp cloth on your forehead. Don't like hot weather. Never have. It is a cliche, I know, bur it is the humidity that makes it worse. The heat in Cyprus never used to bother me. Nice dry heat. Think this weather might be getting to my mother. She is 79 but still fit and healthy. From the post you have sent I guess you are about the same age so take care. LOTS OF WATER

LOTS OF WATER You wouldn't believe the amount of water I've been drinking.... unfortunately, with my mobility issues, all those trips to the bathroom are not fun !! -- the heat does seem to bother me more the older I get, and weathermen always advise folks to check in on seniors frequently... now I know why !! It is, indeed, very humid here. I remember sales trips to Arizona -- very hot but low humidity, and actually loved the climate. As I think about it, I've always preferred the cold of winter, unlike my two sisters who both retired to Florida. NEVER .

Calling all Friends of The Waltons!
The former Walton’s International Fan Club is now The Forever Friends of The Waltons.
Carolyn Grinnell has presided over the WIFC admirably for 25 years and now she has handed duties over to Carole Johnson and Cynthia Dunaway Brittain, who will host an exciting weekend of Waltoning this October 25-27, 2019. We have BIG plans for that weekend, so SAVE THE DATES now!
As in the past, we will gather at The Kirkley hotel in Lynchburg. A block of rooms is currently being held starting Thursday, October 24 through Sunday, October 27 for the special rate of $119 per night plus taxes. Please ask for Forever Friends of The Waltons rate when making reservations at 434-237-6333.
Book early for the October event because we can now proudly announce that Carole Johnson has purchased the land directly across from the Walton’s Mountain Museum and will begin construction on John & Olivia’s Bed & Breakfast Inn, a Walton-inspired, Depression-era family-style home and you will want to be a part of this special Grand Opening event.
Reservation details will be available soon, when we will announce rates and how to book your stay.
Join us on the Mountain in beautiful October for The Forever Friends of The Waltons inaugural weekend and the Grand Opening of John & Olivia’s Bed & Breakfast Inn! ♥️
