A little bored tonight -- so Googled "Doe Hill" -- haven't you always wondered ??!! There is in fact a Doe Hill, Virginia -- latest population: 75 Here's a map --

The population of Schuyler, Virginia, Earl Hamner’s boyhood home, was 298 in the 2010 census. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuyler,_Virginia I'm aware Walton's Mountain is a fictional place, nevertheless it is still populated by fictional characters

I guess it depends on whether or not anyone is staying in the old Montgomery place at the time the population is counted.
