Well if he believed he was the (as it turned out, non existant) baby's father, he must have slept with her. Jim Bob had been drinking and passed out and woke up in Kathy Seals bed. I think Jim Bob said he was completely dressed when he woke up. It doesn't sound as if anything happened. If it had that could bring up another issue. Kathy Seals could be accused of taking advantage of Jim Bob when he was in no condition to consent to sex. If a woman is too drunk to consent to sex and isn't aware of what is happening it is considered sexual assault. The same should go for a man who is unable to consent. I believe she said she watched him sleep.

In regards to Curt and he and Mary Ellen's rapid romance it seems to me that Curt swooped in and basically charmed all of the Walton's Mountain community is almost no time. Ironically Mary Ellen being the last to succumb to his charm and personality. Even when he made early missteps with people like the Baldwin sisters he quickly won them over with his high level of medical competence. And his early efforts to build a clinic to serve the community made it clear he was committed to serving the people there.

A fair point - and it's quite a contrast against Cindy, who was not well regarded by anyone in the community. She had been unfairly called "Sinful Cindy" and nobody really respected her.

How was Ben supposed to have met Cindy in the first place? What was Cindy even doing on Walton's Mountain to begin with? Wasn't her family someplace else (mom died, dad in military) and she was living in a boarding school? Are we supposed to believe there was a boarding school for wealthy girls in Walton's Mountain?

Are we supposed to believe there was a boarding school for wealthy girls in Walton's Mountain? If there was, it wouldn't make sense that Aimee got sent away for so long. I've been rewatching these episodes recently. We don't know how Ben and Cindy met, he just has a date with her in Day of Infamy. Later, the implication seems to be that she just lived somewhere on her own nearby. Perhaps taking over the family home after leaving boarding school? Either way, it's a bit weird because why would Ben and Cindy choose to live in a shed when they could live in Cindy's actual house? I suppose Ben wanted to be close to the family and Cindy also liked the idea of joining a big gamily (which she says in The Home Front), but her background and the early days of her relationship with Ben are kind of unclear.

It seems that Cindy’s family was from the Washington, DC area. That’s where she was born and where she lived as a small child. We know this because in “The Carousel” we find out that she was adopted, and that her birth mother used to go play with her at the park when her nurse brought her there as a little girl. Her father’s funeral was in Washington, DC.
My theory on how they met is that Ben probably traveled around a lot. We know he went away to Norfolk (if I remember correctly) and worked for awhile. Maybe he did that more than once, left home and got a temporary job in a large city. Maybe one of the places he went to was Washington, DC, and he met Cindy there.
This is fiction anyway, so we can make up our own story about how they met since it was never actually revealed in an episode.
