In all the years of the Waltons show...each of the characters had memorable moments that stand out for each of us...what are your faves - even if you weren't fond of the moment but it stands out at any rate ?
Here a are a few of mine:
When Grandpa is sick When Grandma comes back after her stroke & when she says OLD FOOL Olivia temporarily has polio When Elizabeth is sick and when she is freaked out after ferris wheel and house fire Corabeth 's arrival to Walton's Mountain Whenever Corabeth calls Ike " Mr. Godsey" John Boy's leaving home Erin 's love life woes Mary Ellen helping deliver a baby for the first time Jason playing music at anytime John talking to Grandpa in the woods Ben eloping with Cindy Jim Bob finding out he had a twin Baldwins driving their car Verdie learning to read
...much more but these stand out for me !!

Quickly one of my favorites is when Grandpa storms out of the house because Grandma is being stubborn about going to the Doctor. Grandpa walks off to the pond ~ John Boy is there reading and Grandpa is hopping mad and pacing around. He sits/leans and tells John Boy a story about a young girl who was called Sissy who had dreams of becoming a seamstress and how her dreams never came true. John Boy asks why and Grandpa says cause he married her!! Love that scene and so many more!!

Nathan Moore describes the Leroy Harley murder trial. Dr Willard examines the Baldwin Sisters for the first time. Cindy finds her adoption papers. Ben eats ice cream alone while Nancy Madden visits with her mother. Jeffrey and Serena relese the brake and start driving Cindy's car---this is similar to a 1959 Leave it to Beaver episode however in LITB no property is damaged! John Boy goes to the puppet show in Paris with Simone Barringer. Jason is forced to grab Lupinski to keep him from punching Lietenant Barnes. Rose asks Mary Ellen 'What is the Marshall Institute? Elizabeth starts walking home from school while two of her friends whisper secrets. Elizabeth knows that it is about her good report cards. Daisy introduces John Boy to Melissa. The Baldwins say that Arizona is full of indians--which I am sure produced a laugh throughout Phoenix and Tucson!

Gosh....so many....... I'll start with one favorite of mine of Curt and Mary Ellen. After Mary Ellens baby shower she tells Curt that Flossie Brimmer saw something in Mary Ellen's tea cup. He said..."..swimming or floating?" Makes me laugh every time.

For me nothing will ever beat when john boy buys the flowers from Ike and then the camera goes back to Ike for a moment of comedy genius with "how'd that happen??"

It's Christmas Eve and Grandma and Grandpa have gone to visit Maude in the nursing home. The snow is so heavy and still falling they can't make it back home. There are no rooms at the hotel they go to and are going to sleep in the lobby when Grandpa tells Grandma that they are going to another hotel cause if they have to sleep in a lobby it is going to be the nicest one in town!!

John has been accused of stealing 2 silver goblets, the kids are all bummed out and sitting on the porch. Mary Ellen is really peeved and of course mouthy when Jason says something to her like Oh, Mary Ellen stop being so dramatic!!

One of mine is Sissy Spacek, as Sarah, in The Townie, saying to John Boy as she hops down from the back of the truck in a huff: "When are you going to stop being John Boy and become John Man??"
Myrtle, what episode does your line come from? It's great!

I've been watching the complete fourth season DVD's - the 2 episode I watched earlier both featured Jim-Bob: "The Search" and "The Secret"! The first episode was splendidly directed & made me wonder: it says at the end of each episode "filmed at the Burbank Studios, Burbank, California" - is that where they filmed the excellent outdoor scenes? That's pretty amazing if it's true! "The Secret": I wondered why they wouldn't have had a gravesite for Joseph Zebulon Walton?? I also wish the other children were given a scene of reactions to the news! That episode was a real heart-tugger!!!
I loved the first season episode "The Calf" with Jim-Bob & Elizabeth out in the middle of the night fending for themselves!! I pretty much love all of the episodes...

I have a favorite episode, not necessarily a moment. It features Elizabeth in "The Changeling". I'm captivated with the whole essence of this episode which to me is in such drastic opposition to the usual Walton pragmatic approach and rationale. They embrace the possibility of something out of the realm of the natural. It put the whole family in a new light for me.

Mine is when John Boy come home in The Return when he grabs Olivia hand and she turns to see it's John Boy. Another in The Dust Bowl Cousins when John Boy and Job are fighting and Grandpa grabs them both by the back of the neck.

The cabin scenes with John Boy and Sarah - I've watched that a lot.
The ladies working on Mary-Ellen's quilt.
Grandpa leading the parade across the bridge and reciting Annabel Lee - as a matter of fact the whole statue show - all of it!
Anything with the Baldwins.
Ike telling John how lonely he is and why he wants to marry CoraBeth.
Mary Ellen nursing the mountain people on horse back.
That'll do for a start!

I'll have to say that one of the most touching episodes of The Waltons was the one where GW was killed. Such good acting on the part of Ralph Waite and Mary McDonough. It takes a lot to bring tears to my eyes by watching something on TV but that episode did.
