Yes, I have read and seen “Mockingbird.” I skipped the sequel, though.

I have been to the Monroe County courthouse at least a dozen times. Most people think the movie was filmed inside the courthouse, not true. They did visited the courtroom to take pictures, draw sketches and made measurements and went back and built a replica on the set.

Love it and watch it every year. He plays a great character. I get tearful when he dies and says to his brothers " Tell Mama to come upstairs. Tell her I'm feeling poorly" I kind of lost interest in the movie after David's character died. As it happened I recorded it, and went back to it a couple of days later in the hope that I wouldn't let "David's death" cloud my judgment of the picture. I must have watched it for a ten minutes after the death scene, but I just couldn't get into it.

As much as I enjoy "The Blue and the Gray," "To Kill a Mockingbird" is in a whole other league. It is one of the best! I recently watched it with my son, AFTER he read the book. That was a requirement!

That was a requirement! Mockingbird is one of the few movies that very closely follows the book -- and does an excellent job !!
