I am still watching, Roots: The Next Generations (S1 Ep4 Part 4) Lynn Hamilton (Verdie) portrays cousin Georgia Anderson, the last of the "graying ladies" (as Alex Haley calls her), who recounts old stories her grandfather, Chicken George and his mother, Kizzy (daughter of Kunta and Bell) told of the old days. She encourages Alex to discover their ancestral roots.

Watching the movie Vertigo with James Stewart and Kim Novak. Surprised to see Ellen Corby who portrays the owner of the McKittrick Hotel where James Stewart goes to get info on Kim Novak (he's a former private detective doing a friend a favor by investigating his wife's activities).

Watching a cute little movie called Napoleon and Samantha (1972) starring Johnny Whitaker and Jodie Foster. Will Geer is Napoleon's (Johnny's) Grandpa and Ellen Corby plays Gertrude who is caring for Samantha (Jodie) while her parents are away. John Crawford is also in it portraying a desk sergeant. Whitaker is a farm boy and Jodie is his girlfriend. Grandpa and Napoleon come upon a circus clown who owns an old lion with bad teeth. The clown explains that he is going back to Europe but can't take the lion. The clown convinces Grandpa to take in the lion and in doing so, they keep "Major" the lion in the chicken pen (with the chickens). This movie has so many twists and turns it would take forever to explain but it's a sweet movie. TCM has been showing Disney movies all evening. I just finished watching Charlie, the Lonesome Cougar that I loved watching when I was a kid. * I forgot to mention, a handsome, young Michael Douglas stars in this movie along with Whitaker and Foster.

A Walton sighting of sorts. I was watching Little House On The Prairie tonight. The episode I Do Again S7 Ep20 where Ma and Pa get married again. The church they get married in is the school used on The Waltons Get out of town. I never realize that, when watching Little House On The Prairie, that the white chapel is The Walton's school. Good eye. All these years, re-watching them over and over again. I'll have to remember that, the next time, I watch that episode of Little House on the Prairie.

I didn't see all of the show, mentioned above, but if Ms. Learned was there, I missed her. I think it was a 60-minute cutdown of a 90-minute show, and her segment got edited out.
Probably from the early 1970s. A guest was the publisher of Ladies' Home Journal, and I guess the theme was classy ladies. I noted Cloris Leachman, Gladys Knight, Marie Osmond, Lindsay Wagner and Farrah Fawcett were there. At least three of them came out in fur coats, something that would be frowned upon today!

Love my westerns Me too...especially the old one...Bonanza, The Rifleman, Big Valley and of course Gunsmoke. Miss those kind of shows. Today the shows seem to spend more effort in being graphically correct and lose the story...
