HELP!!! ILoveTheWaltons Michael is a sweetheart and super nice for fans! she does sign authentically and will send you a nice 8x10 professional photo if you send her a 9x12 SASE. if you want a Walton version make sure to request that kind of photo in your letter. as for the letter, There's really no set standard on good it has to be. I know for mine I tell them a bit about myself and thank them for the incredible job they do ect. ect. She does take a bit to reply due to her busy schedule, but I can guarantee the signature will be authentic! I'll be meeting her in September and can't wait! ;D RYAN-J

Ryan, I sent Michael Learned a letter about 10 years ago, and I gave a self addressed envelope, but it was small, and she sent me an 8x10 autographed picture of the family. So sweet of her!

Ryan, your letters to celebs sound like mine. I've learned "they" enjoy learning something about you the fan and most are kind and return authentic sigs, I've received a few auto pen. I've been impressed with how quickly some pics have been returned but some have taken up to a year to reply depending on their schedule. I always kept a notebook with their name/date & checked it off when received.
Out of the hundreds of autographs I've received I was most impressed with Al Pacino! He appreciates his fans and will sign anything you send! The first time I wrote to him I requested an inscribed autographed photo for my son, I gave his name. He quickly returned the pic & one for me too! My son is a huge Scareface fan so I bought him an authentic Scareface button up shirt. I sent it to Mr. Pacino with a letter and attached note where to sign so I could have it framed. I wanted it for a Christmas present but he was filming and couldn't get to it in time. I received it in Feb. with a note of explaination. He was so kind!
I've had a few letters returned stamped refused. I had sent Farah Fawcett a letter and a few days later news broke of her cancer. I received that one back denied and totally understood, I had no idea. I had mailed a letter to Richard Pryor, he passed away 2 days later so I sent a condolence card. I've had a couple who returned my letter in my SASE with note requesting a donation to their charity and others who wanted payment! The majority of celebs will kindly sign.

If anyone on this forum collects playbills and you're a Walton's fan, Richard Thomas' Broadway play "Enemy of the People" begins Sept. 4th. Here's the address:
Samuel J. Friedman Theatre 261 West 47th Street New York, NY
I have a few autographed playbills but most of my autographs are photos. I have a autographed magazine from Richard Petty (he was on the cover). Prince Charles sent me a wedding pic of him & Camille with Harry & William. Of course he didn't sign it nor did he send it but I have it just the same. I wanted a signed pic of the Queen but her staff sent me some literature about England and a note saying she received to many letters to reply.

Thanks for the info Marylou! I've inlcuded the address below as well, as to how it should be properly addressed if sending to Richard directly. He may have signed playbills to send out, but if fans are looking to get a Walton signed photo, it's best to send one to him and provide a SASE. I received a reply from Richard when he was on Broadway last time and he signed all my items. ;D This show will be starting on Sept. 27th & will closing Nov 11th, so don't delay in sending a request once it starts! Richard Thomas "An Enemy of the People" C/o Samuel J. Friedman Theatre 261 West 47th Street New York, NY 10036 USA RYAN-J

Thanks Jeri! I thought of sending flowers for opening night. Silly, huh? Not silly at all. You'd be surprised how much an actor appreciates gifts from fans. As I've stated before I grew up a Days of Our Lives fan and wrote the cast throughout my life. We've gotten to know each other (some not all) and still keep in touch. A few years ago I commissioned an artist friend of mine to do an oil painting of Kristian Alfonso/Hope Brady for her birthday. She sent me a very nice letter/thank you card & I have a pic of her in her dressing room with my painting behind her! Her fan club always sends cupcakes & flowers but I wanted to do something on my own. I've also gotten to know Renee Jones/Lexie Carver and miss her so much. She always sent me Days things, autographed cast calendar she had the cast each sign for me! I have various Days things but this is my fave! I'm sure Richard will appreciate anything you send and maybe he'll send you a thank you note! ;D

Thanks Jeri! I thought of sending flowers for opening night. Silly, huh? Not silly. But, ummmm, trying to think..... The amount of Manhattan dollars you'd have to spend to assure flowers would make it to his dressing room would be exorbitant...... And, you don't want to be lost in the shuffle -- the chaotic nature of opening night makes it a difficult time to get any real attention -- and you want to be noticed !! So, what else...? I think if you want real "contact" with Richard, the better idea is to go after something at the reunion. Much smaller venue, many fewer people, etc..... You stand a chance of charming his son and making something happen that will get back to Richard !! You're not going to believe this -- right now I'm getting a chest pain struggling with this..... really. Best, Jet

'The Mission' once I get to California. Don't expect to get them all signed, but going prepared just in case. Pretty happy with how all the custom ones came out. ;D RYAN-J
