I LOVE bib aprons and wear them all the time. I especially love the classic-looking ones and am always on the outlook for another cute one. I have a book called "The Apron Book" by Ellyn Anne Geisel. It has a pattern in the back for a bib apron but it is no where as cute as the one Rebecca Lee showed. I love that apron, Rebecca Lee! Kathy Lee, I'll post a picture of the cover of the book I have. If you don't find a pattern you like you might want to see if your library has this book. It has some darling aprons in it, some with the dimensions for making a few of the aprons, plus the actual bib apron pattern in the back, as I mentioned. EllynAnne Geisel Talks About The Apron Book That was so neat! It makes me want to go out and add another apron to my collection! I actually won this book in a drawing at a social club I belong to. One of our members was giving a program on aprons that night and had us draw for the book. I had the lucky number. Now, that was one fun program if you like vintage style aprons.

Look at this Pinterest site. Has Grandma in her apron! This person must love the Waltons! She has many pictures of the Waltons pinned at her site. OMG! She has some awesome aprons pinned! I want this one, I want that one!!!! (I need an apron board, too!) If you type in "vintage aprons" on Pinterest an entire plethora of aprons is there, including some patterns. I am going to start paying closer attention to grandma's aprons now, and the same with the style that Olivia wears. It seems like I have seen Olivia in both half and full aprons, but not certain.

Oh, boy! Nice, VERY nice!! (There goes my Saturday!) Well, Kathy Lee, that nice little website bit me in the pocketbook! EllynAnne has some of her limited edition aprons for sale on this site and I've got two of them coming my way. Oh, m'gosh they are so darn cute! I bought the yellow polka dot with the Mary Engelbreit border and the Merry Christmas apron. I don't have any waist aprons anymore and will use these for special occasions.

But, I just feel naked without one on in the kitchen!

I have been looking around at apron patterns but just can't find one like Grandma is wearing in the picture. There must be a pattern somewhere! If anyone finds one, let me know. Thanks!

There are a ton of new and old apron patterns on eBay. There may not be one exactly like Grandma Waltons but you can always adapt the pattern.

She had been gone from home for two weeks on a tour and had the yellow polka dot apron with her. Well, she sold it to someone else and felt terrible about it. She was so sweet and apologetic and told me to go back to her website and pick out any other apron I wanted whether it was more expensive or not. I did pick out another apron (full one) and it was more expensive. I told her I had her book and she is sending me a "personalized book plate." As a librarian, tell me what exactly that is. I have a general idea but not quite sure about the "plate" part of it?

I have a general idea but not quite sure about the "plate" part of it? A book plate is printed on sticky backed paper and is about 4 inches by 6 inches (depending on who made the plate). It usually says, "This book belongs to" or "This book has been donated by" and then has an area for a person to write his/her name. As she is the author, she is probably sending you one that has been made specially for her and she is signing it for you. You can put it in the front of your book where the author usually signs her name. How nice of her to do that! I wish she would make a nice simple apron like Grandma wore. Just can't seem to find one like it or a pattern for it. It is the one that has the little pin tucks by the waist.

That would be fun!
