So as I have been packing and cleaning and organizing for the past week getting ready to sell our house I got to thinking that if you were invited to an open house at the Walton's and could take ONE thing home what would it be? Now remember that many things already have "keepers" ie: the porch swing, Olivia's jadeite bowl, John boy's desk ...so you will have to keep this in mind when picking. Also just one item each! I was torn between the Grandmother's Garden quilt in The Dustbowl Cousins and Olivia and John's red bedroom lamp. Decided on the quilt...hope no one is a keeper of it?

I would take Grandpa and Grandma Walton's bedroom furniture. I would let them keep the mattresses so they wouldn't have to sleep on the floor.

Too funny...but must be an object not a person and I believe all the pets have keepers!

The spinning wheel. And if someone else has it...I'll arm wrestle you for it.

I woukd take the keys to the house so no one else is allowed inside unless they pay me general admiision. Maybe I should take the deed instead? Nah.... I'll take John Boy's desk ( unless it's spoken for already in this thread)

The radio. If that is taken then I will have Grandma's broom. I live with an middle aged fool that could use few whacks from it from time to time. LOL

Don't be afraid of that poltergeist. Like my mother always said, "Don't worry about the dead. It's the living you got to watch out for!"

I'm going to take the cute little shed where Mary Ellen found the Baldwins' typewriter and sold it to the junk dealer, where John Boy kept his printing press, where Ben and Cindy lived as newlyweds.

I always had my eye on that bird statue that sat on that low wall at the bottom of the steps between the kitchen and living room.
