I did end up kissing David Harper (Jim Bob) on the cheek for you today patriciaanne. I got several questions answered:
1. During Grandma and Grandpa Walton's 50th anniversary celebration ("The Heritage" Season 2 Ep. 17), Will Geer fell down while dancing, then Grandma helped him up and they started dancing. Was the fall scripted or unintentional and they just kept filming? Will Geer falling down was not in the script. Either Will fell by accident or he did it on purpose and they kept filming and it stayed in the episode.
2. How many Recklesses were there? Two.
3. During "The Graduation" (Season 2 Ep. 22) when Chance (their cow died) how did they get Chance to lie there like she was dead? They used a tranquilizer on the cow.
4. Did Ellen Corby regain more of her power of speech in real life than we saw on TV? No, she never did.
5. How did Judy Norton (Mary Ellen) feel about the episode "The Tempest" (Season 9 Ep. 10) that had Curt come back from the dead and living in Florida with a war injury? Judy did not like this episode nor did she like filming it.
6. In "The Carnival" (Season 1 Ep. 2), did Judy Norton really walk the ridge of the barn roof with an umbrella? Did she wear a safety harness/wire of some sort if she did? They had a stunt double do it but they filmed Judy walking on a see-saw placed between two six foot ladders. She thought that was just as dangerous as it would have been on the barn roof.
7. What about the Changeling episode that had Elizabeth's 13th birthday with weird happenings? Thought the episode was out of place for The Waltons.
8. For Clyde - Why did Miss Emily's dog Dickey just up and disappear? Added cost of the animal trainer and the dog, plus it is always hard working with animals on set.
9. How did Eric Scott feel about "The Ceremony" episode that had Jim Bob and a friend accidently sling a stone through a Jewish family's window and they had Ben asking What is a Jew? What about "The Beginning" episode that had Ben snubbing Toni (Jason's girlfriend) because she was Jewish? Eric Scott ended up answering these questions on the forum today (3/6) under the thread: "Ben and Judaism". waltonswebpage.proboards.com/thread/6696/ben-judaism#.VPvKsk0tHwo
10. For Sharon (sdw) Would you do Dancing with the Stars? I started a thread on this with the answers. "Would Mary, Kami, Judy, Eric or David Do Dancing w/the Stars?" They all said No except for Judy.

11. How did you feel about recasting John Boy with Robert Wightman? This question was ignored. No one responded to it.
12. Question posed to Eric Scott - On the show whenever you got into a fight with Jim Bob or Jason, did any of you ever really 'try' to fight each other? No, they didn't. They all got along and would never really fight each other in real life.
13. What was Mary McDonough's (Erin) favorite scene in an episode? "The Tailspin" (Season 7 Ep. 22) Mary Ellen goes to let Erin know that her date is there and finds Erin washing her hair. Mary Ellen then tries to rinse Erin's hair.
What was her least favorite? "The Homefront" (Season 8 Ep. 1). Erin dressed as a Southern Belle to show up J.D. Pickett. Mary did not like wearing that dress. She said it was hard getting around in it.
14. What two things did David Harper (Jim Bob) not like in two different episodes? "The Reunion" (Season 1 Ep. 13) Jim Bob had to wear a hand me down shirt/blouse of one of his sister's. "The Bequest" (Season 2 Ep. 12) Mary Ellen experiments dyeing Jim Bob's hair. David did not like wearing the shirt/blouse or the wig.
15. What did Mary McDonough (Erin) think about Jonathan Frakes as Ashley Longworth, Jr.? She thought they had great chemistry together. He appeared as Ashley Longworth, Jr. in two episodes: "The Legacy" Season 7 Ep. 19 and "The Lost Sheep" Season 8 Ep. 7. When they went to film the 1982 TV movie "A Wedding On Walton's Mountain", they asked Jonathan Frakes to reprise the role of Ashley but he was busy filming something else. They brought in Louis Welch for the role. Mary wishes they had waited on Jonathan to be available as she did not have the chemistry with Louis as she did with Jonathan.
16. What episode did Judy Norton (Mary Ellen) really enjoy filming? "The Wager" (Season 8 Ep. 12). This is the episode that has Mary Ellen and Erin as the only women in a horse and foot race against men.
17. How did they find out that The Waltons was canceled? From TV, newspapers and other people. The studio did not let them know first hand. Mary McDonough said she came home to find all of these messages on her phone saying, "I'm so sorry!" and she was thinking to herself, "Who died?"
18. I was only able to ask Judy Norton, Mary McDonough, Kami Cotler and Eric Scott's wife if any of them personally owned one of Hallmark's 2014 Walton's House Ornaments. None of them own one of the ornaments.
19. I asked Judy Norton (Mary Ellen) if she knew beforehand that Tom Bower (Curt Willard) had been cast to be her husband and what did she think about their twenty year age difference? Judy said that she did not know he had been cast until she was on set and that the age difference never mattered to them.
