Suppose Erin had married Rev.Buchannon? Would she have made a good preacher's wife? That's a good question. She really liked Rev Buchanon and there was a mutual attraction there by all accounts so I don't know why it was not developed further. It puzzled me why Erin backed off in such a huff when she saw the Rev and Corabeth together - it could have been easily resolved as a misinterpretation of what was going on as Corabeth's predatory behaviour towards the Rev in that episode was simply appalling. Corabeth spoiled things for Erin and the Rev and it could have been overcome. How Corabeth could pursue the Rev the way she did knowing full well he was interested in Erin was beyond me.

Back then, young men did not want to "wait" for the girl to be old enough for marriage. Ben married Cindy because he, too, couldn't wait to get her into the sack! It turned out well... but that's what inspired many men to ask for a girl's hand in marriage.

I was watching the Volunteer recently where GW surprised or caught Erin off guard with his quiet marriage proposal to her. She didn't accept. GW signed up for the Army and was eventually killed in the. Next episode the First Casualty. I know Erin didn't do it intentionally but did her turning down GW's marriage proposal devestated him enough to sign up for the Army where he eventually was killed I've always wondered what he would have done or how it would have been written inif Erin had accepted. Men went to war in those days and bothGW and Curt were killed after marrying or dating the WALTON sisters. What did you think of this turn of events in the Volunteer when Erin didn't accept GW's marriage proposal? Erin would have sadly lost her fiancee. It would have been even worse than losing a boyfriend. Because of this loss, Erin could have perhaps helped her older sister out a year later when she lost her husband. It would have been a nice, touching plot in "Day Of Infamy."

Have not been on for awhile so Happy Holidays! I did not know the actor who played GW was one of the children on the sitcom Nanny and the Professor. Nice to see your names. Take care

It did kind of remind me a bit of Bonanza. If a woman became romantically involved with a Cartwright, she was doomed!

Eventually GW would have been drafted. He was nice enough but she didn't love him in a romantic way. He was like a brother.
