As most of you older Walton fans know, I'm big into Autograph Collecting. so I thought I'd create this topic for any new Waltons Cast or Crew successes that we get. It doesn't matter if it's a TTM (Through-The-Mail) success or In-person Success. just be sure and let us know when you send a letter out and when you get it back!! and if you can, please post photos of you success so other members can see! I can't wait to see who posts there success next! ;D Here's a link with addresses for several of the Walton cast to get you started. when more become available they will be updated. home.comcast.net/~waltonswebpage/addresses.htmlRYAN J.

... If I wanted to try to get an autographed picture from one of the cast, how would I go about doing that? And, who should I pick first? Michael Learned Ralph Waite Richard Thomas or Joe Conn-errr. (Ike Godsey ) Thanks for Your Help. This forum is fun!

How do I log out? Or maybe it doesn't matter. I will long gone but it will appear as if I'm here lurking I guess. But I gotta scoot. Yes this format is fun. I just need some practice. Old age catches up fast.

Here is the How-To on collecting Autographs TTM!! HOW TO COLLECT AUTOGRAPH TTM: (THROUGH-THE-MAIL) When I write a letter to a celebrity I always start it out by telling them that I think they are a great Actor or Actress. I then tell them what movies I greatly enjoyed them in. I sometimes will ask them a few questions. Example: What was your most memorable moment working on a movie set? If they did voice-overs for films or cartoons I'll ask them: What was you favorite line to say? You can always come up with other questions too. More than often they can't reply to every single question a fan sends, but they appreciate that you care about what they do. I generally save the Autograph request part for the bottom portion of the letter. I just ask them very nicely to please personalize (Optional) and sign the enclosed item for my collection. I always include something for the person to sign too (Index Card, Photo, DVD insert etc.) I also provide them an SASE (Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelope) So they don't have to pay for return postage. Plus most celebrity's won't sign your item if you don't include a SASE. If you don't have anything for the celebrity to sign I would enclose $4.00-$5.00 dollars to help pay the cost of them sending you one of their own photos. most send out 8x10's, so be sure and include a 9x12 SASE so they can send it to you. Another thing that I found has gotten good responses, is by handwriting all my letters. It let's the celebrity know that you took the time to say thank you for all the great work they do. when I celebrity sees a typed letter they assume that it's a form letter that you have sent to other celebrity's, but changed the film titles and names. I used to do this, but found out quickly that I didn't get many of my SASE's back. Be sure and log in your request so you know when you sent it out. Also make sure you have a working address. If you see an address that lot's of people have had success with, then by all means use that one! If you find one that hasn't been tested you can send a letter to it. Keep in mind though, you MAY or MAY NOT get it back. Another rule is don’t send a photo or any item you can't Live without. Sometimes mail will get lost or damaged during its trip and you might regret it later. Also, be sure and check out all the Waltons Cast IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase) profiles for lots more info on other films they might have been in but you might not have recognized them in. Some of the profiles will feature fun Trivia facts that can also be a help in writing you letter. www.imdb.com/title/tt0068149/fullcreditsHope this info is helpful to YOU in your new hobby! If you have any other questions let me know! I can be contacted via my email address under my profile or you can post your questions here and either myself or another member will do are best to answer them for you! RYAN J.

I'm big on autograph collecting too. I have tons of great successes in my collection. Waltons related, I currently have Earl Hamner, Joe Conley, Ronnie Claire Edwards, and Ralph Waite. I'm expecting one from Mary McDonough. I emailed her the other day. I also have written letters to Michael Learned and Richard Thomas, but have not gotten anything back from them yet. I am going to write to Eric Scott soon. I have all of my autographs scanned. I will post them tomorrow. Too lazy to do it now, hehe.
