We received our reservation on Monday and I mailed it on Tuesday. I am excited as well because this will be our VERY FIRST reunion other than going on Carolyn's Bahama's cruise in '99. I am really looking forward to meeting some new Walton's friends and the drive out through some (hopefully) spectacular fall foliage! Let the trip planning begin!

Remember to mention on the reservation form that you are on the forum. That way Carolyn will try her best to sit forum members together or as close together as possible at the dinner. Are you picking up the tab for breakfast? Just kidding. I personally don't mind you joining us. Meals that can be shared with whomever anyone wants to are: breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, dinner on Friday night after the meet and greet, plus Mr. Forever and I plan on eating lunch at Isis Ringrose's luncheon on Saturday. Those that go to Schuyler on Saturday can choose to eat their lunch there. Five dollars is a great price, we went by there last year and she had all kinds of good looking food. She also had out lots of candy...I believe that was pretty popular among the ones of us running around together. You know what I look like because of my avatar...you will have to come up to me and introduce yourself. Are you coming alone or will your boyfriend be with you? Remember that Virginia is on Eastern Standard Time. I am on Central Standard Time so I always have to remember to live an hour ahead in time.

I also want to go to Schyler. As we get closer, I'll message you my cell phone number and if you message me yours, I can text you so we can meet up. I will be bringing my boyfriend, who is being a wonderful sport about this. He does like The Waltons, though, Maybe not to the degree that I do, but he does like them.

I LOVED that candy table, never having seen anything like that here before, I will admit, I was a lil excited and felt like I was going trick or treating ha ha

Where do you all have breakfast and Friday night dinner....at the hotel or an area Lynchburg restaurant? We also signed up for Iris Ringrose's $5.00 bargain lunch. It sounds pretty awesome. I sent our reservation in before I saw Carolyn's post about writing "Forum" on the reservation. However, I Facebook messaged her and asked if she would do it for me when she received our reservation. I hope to be able to sit with or near many of you so we can meet each other. You can see what I look like from my Avatar, too.

We can PM each other as the reunion gets closer and exchange cell phone numbers if you wish. Some of us meet up at the meet and greet, out in the hotel lobby or call each other about getting together to eat out, hang out, go to Schuyler, etc. Some of us just hang out in the lobby to talk and spend time with each other. There is a restaurant in the Kirkley Hotel but for some strange reason they don't open for breakfast on Sunday mornings (unless it has changed from last year). There are plenty of different kinds of places to eat in Lynchburg. Those of us that want to eat a meal or meals together can decide where and what time to eat. We can all carpool or follow each other to Schuyler on Saturday also. It works out great because once you get to Schuyler and park...everything - the Baptist Church, the general store, Earl Hamner's homeplace, the Walton's Museum, the hospital that Earl was born in (which is now Isis Ringrose's house) is all within walking distance of each other. That way you get to spend more time with each other yakking/blabbing/talking while you are walking. The Rockfish Dam is just around the curve/bend from all of this and we can all pull our vehicles over to see that and take pictures. We will pass the old Rockfish Post Office on the way to Schuyler and you can pull over for that too. Last year they opened the Baptist Church so that we could go inside. I'm hoping they do that again this year.

I'm hoping they do that again this year. Sure, we can exchange cell phone numbers. Thank you for offering. This is a great way to meet others from the Forum. I'll see what my hubby would like to do as the reunion gets closer. Thank you for all the information. A lot has changed since we last visited Schuyler in both 1993 and 1996. Earl's family home wasn't open, we have never been in the church, and we didn't know anything about the home Earl was born in, (or else forgot) and the Rockfish Dam. I can see what Carolyn meant in her letter about the Saturday schedule being "tight!" Until I looked at my Virginia map, I didn't realize Schuyler is about 50+ miles north. We plan to swing back through there on Sunday as we make the trek back toward home. My hubby is also a big Walton fan and loves the museum and having lots of time to go through it. Thanks again, Kimberly!
