Uncle Cody Nelson, in The Courtship' Season 1, and Colonel Seth Linville in The Collision, Season 5 - one and the same! Played by Eduard Franz. I guess our Waltons experts already knew this, but I considered it a prime discovery! Probably not the only time this happened during the course of the series.

I think I saw another one last night in The Waiting. The patient in John Boy's room looks like a guy Erin dates - maybe gets engaged to. I'm not sure of that storyline....but I'm pretty sure its him...

You are correct april. Morgan Stevens played John Boy's hospital roommate Sam Stadder in the 1979 episode The Waiting. Then he came back in The Lumberjack 1981 as Erin's love interest & eventual husband, Paul Northridge.

The most famous one that we know is Tom Bower. He first appeared as the airplane pilot in the 1975 episode The Wingwalker. Then he came back as Curt Willard in 1976.
Erica Hunton who played Holly the deaf girl in Season 1 Episode 1 The Foundling 1972, also starred as Lucille in the 1980 episode The Unthinkable.
Cleavon Little starred as Hawthorne Dooley in The Homecoming: A Christmas Story 1971. Then he starred as James Trevis Clark in The Fighter 1975. He was training as a boxer in order to raise money to start a black church on Walton's Mountain.

I'm watching "The Pledge" on Hallmark, and I just realized that Ellen Geer, Will Geer's daughter, appeared in 2 episodes. She played Eva Mann in "The Ceremony" and Ronie Cotter in "The Pledge."

Everytime I watch an episode I go onto IMBD and research the guest actors. It's nice seeing what the guests have gone on to do since being on the Waltons. I have found A LOT of recycled actors doing this, as well as characters being played by multiple actors (ie: Josh, Harley's son, who was played by two different actors back and forth throughout the series.

In the episode where Verdie searches her family tree. She and Jason visit an elderly couple who were neighbors of her parents when she was a baby. The man, I believe he was later seen as an old gentleman who gives JimBob a ride in this wagon when JimBob was hitching home from his army base. He offered him a sip of water from a mason jar, Jim Bob says back home we call this the recipe and then he drinks it and it's water.

I'm watching "The Literary Man" on UP right now, and it reminded me of another recycled actor. David Huddleston played Sheriff Bridges in "The Homecoming" and A.J. Covington in "The Literary Man."

We just watched the episode together Brenda. They said that Jim Bob's appendix operation cost $22.00 - I looked up what that would be worth in today's money...only $385.96! An appendix operation would cost a whole lot more than $385.96 today!!!

The ending narration said they never saw A.J. Covington again, but he showed up again a couple of years later in "The Abdication." But it was a different actor, so maybe it was a different A.J. Covington.

Kami Cotler's Brother Jeff Cotler appeared as an unnamed young boy in The Graduation, before he recycled as Pip, the English child in The Children's Carol. I knew that child didn't sound English.
