For me, Amazon.com has been pretty consistent. Sometimes, they even shipped a day before the release date, just so it would get here sooner. And that with free shipping! I'll tolerate this inconvenient delay for past service.

It's not good for us who live only 30 miles from the Amazon warehouse in Fernley Nevada it's because they ship everything to California first then is comes back through Fernley to get to Fallon 30 miles east. Everything I order from Amazon takes a week to get here.

I think my favorite episodes in this Season are "The Furlough" and "The Valedictorian". Over the years I have grown accustomed to the 2nd John Boy. I was critical at first, but he had some tough shoes to fill after Richard Thomas, and I think all in all he did a good job. I love Jim Bob's role in the last episode. The way he just stood right up and took charge of the graduation. The end, where all the boys walk off together in uniform.......that was really neat.
Sorry I rambled. LoriJean

did anyone notice that they cleaned up the original verses of 'Rosin The Bow" when they sang it on the show ? lol, that was good.

Questions for experts:
1) Why are Mary-Ellen's jeans cut like in the late 70's rather than the mid forties? And in the ep where her and Erin do the relay race, would her shorts really have been considered decent in 1943? The baggy ones Erin wears are closer to the mark, I think.
2) Was the actress who played Rose really that large, or is it padding underneath her costume?
3) Has anybody managed to watch the end bit of the 10-year special (where they meet their real-life selves) without having to look thru their fingers with embarrassment?
4) Why is "the cry of the whippoorwill" only mentioned once in Hamner's narrations this season? Me and my g/f cheer when a whippoorwill is mentioned.

Questions for experts: 2) Was the actress who played Rose really that large, or is it padding underneath her costume? I don't know, but she could move about pretty well. I love how funny she is though! ;D Questions for experts: 3) Has anybody managed to watch the end bit of the 10-year special (where they meet their real-life selves) without having to look thru their fingers with embarrassment? LOL! Yes my sister & I watched that last night and we kept rewinding certain scenes which we thought were SUPER funny! ;D It was a cool feature. I do wish they had done more of a "Behind-the-scenes" look at how the show was made instead of doing 2 hours of flash-backs & 5 minutes of ACTUALLY talking to the cast.. RYAN J.

The bits where the kids met their real selves was so obviously done *without* them actually meeting that it was laughable. The scripted questions/replies didn't help. We can criticize the flashback thing nowadays (when we all have the DVDs etc) but remember that, back then, it would have been up to 8 years since anybody had seen some of those old clips.

The last season coming out in a month or so is depressing. To me it's like a funeral...it's over! Even though I have all the DVD's...I've never gotten over missing the Waltons on tv.

"The last season coming out in a month or so is depressing. To me it's like a funeral...it's over" I feel the same even though I do not watch it on TV anymore. I have all 8 seasons, the Homecoming, all six tv movies made in the 80s and 90s and almost dread the last release. Right now I a watching Dr. Quinn while I wait for the last release. Its not the same at all. I miss the Waltons. I think that I get so much comfort from watching the Waltons. It seems like their depression was easier than our current one is. THey didn't have to worry about outsourcing.
