"The Obsession" from Season 7. Possibly my favorite Mary Ellen episode other than The Wedding.

Hmm. This might not count, but today from 7:00-8:00 am CST on Hallmark Channel was "The Triangle", but I slept through the first 45 minutes! Ever have something that is playing in the background invade your dreams? I could hear Jason and Ben in my dreams!

I got to see Grandma's 68th birthday Wednesday.
And I have been trying to find how to post the message to wish Earl a very happy birthday yesterday.

Tonight I watched "The Fire" from Season 1. Lutie Bascomb burns down the school and physically abuses his daughter, Lois May, a shy and withdrawn young girl whose mother left the family because of her fear of her husband. This is quite a sad episode, written by Earl Hamner and directed by Harry Harris. This one shows what happens when the Recipe is abused. This episode is also interesting because a couple of the secondary actors are related (at least I think they are) to other famous actors / writers / creators who worked on the show. In one scene in the schoolroom, a young student named Jeanett (played by Lisa Eilbacher) is called on by Miss Hunter to answer a question. I think she is the sister of Cindy Eilbacher, who played Martha Rose Coverdale on the show. In two other scenes, one in the schoolhouse and another in the temporary school set up at Ike Godsey's pool room, a young man with long blonde hair is in both scenes. I believe this is Scott Hamner, Earl Hamner's son, who also had a role in The Homecoming. I can't be certain about this because he had no speaking part, which means he didn't get a credit at the end.

Tonight I watched "The Love Story" from Season 1. Sublime! Everything about this episode flows seamlessly into everything else. The writing (Earl Hamner), the direction (Lee Phillips), and the acting are all superb. If it's not the best episode of the whole series, it's real close.

What I meant was that I watched the episode a week ago Wednesday called The Birthday. This was the episode about Grandma's 68th birthday . I was able to watch The Outrage and The Valediction on VHS over the past weekend.

To thespian:
I, too, love Kathleen Quinlan. I have several of her movies on DVD and have always had a bit of a crush on her (can you say that about someone you don't even know?). I think she's beautiful. Google her name and look at some of her more recent photos. She is still a very attractive woman.
