Wanna Have Some Fun! ...
We are all in the year 1939. As close friends of the Walton's we must decide what to buy for each of them during the holidays. Pick a Walton and name the gift!
Olivia Walton ... 5 'get out of the kitchen for free' card and an IOU for a 'Ride your bike around the Rockfish River' day with friends.
Do you think she would like it with a red or a green bow?

I will assume I am a kid back then , I reckon I'd onyl have a few cents to my name and therefore maybe just candy for all the kids, some cheap scent for Olivia and maybe if I could manage it a cigar for John. Grandma and Grandpa something I could pick up from Ike's store (and it'd have to be cheap) so some food perhaps they liked. Nothing fancy as you see. Just my sense of realism

Hey all! Sorry for not posting here much. This is a great topic and I had to chime in with my reply! My gift would be a surprise lumber contract for $100,000!! and for being back in 1939 that would be enough to ge them through the depression and for years to come! ;D RYAN J.

Keep in mind ... there wasn't much money back then. This is where the thought counts the most. John boy, on Olivia's birthday, gave her the gift of a poem. Sometimes bigger and more expensive isn't always the best gift. I would lean more toward something of myself.
I would give Elizabeth the day off of chores and do them for her; then take her on a walk to pick wild flowers. And, I would sit and read 'Love and War' to Erin so she didn't have to read it herself and answer the door every time JD Picket showed up and shewed him away.
Happy Holidays Kami and Mary!

I would give John Sr. a couple of new Western story magazines. I think they sell 'em at Ike's.

I would take Erin on a dinner-and-a-movie date (Yes, I had a crush on Erin - who didn't!) to Charlottesville. It's a win-win situation. She gets to see Clark Gable - I get to hold hands with Erin.

I would get Reckless a bigger role in season 3 cause he seems to be missing.
