This is all very nice and when somebody doesn't post on here they are certainly missed especially if they are a regular. But our good friend Scarlett put us to a test recently and disappeared for awhile while she watched from the sidelines. Now of course I'm not talking about death, sickness or other things that keep us busy in life and on the computer. Like you I certainly know I have to juggle them like my computer interests and work and family time. But if we're gone for awhile that is our business and choice. But it is nice to be Missed as Well. Hopefully we all have a network on here and other sites with our best friends so we know what's going on and we are Missed. Best wishes WmFan Have a great day until next time! It's always been fun.

I try and hop on here every now and then to keep up to date with my Waltons friends, A lot of them I follow on Facebook, but I really should check in more often for those who don't have facebook, I know I got a message from Kimberly today saying she missed seeing me on the forum, so I hopped on and realized I hadn't checked in, in quite a while! I suppose there are some good things about the anonymity of a forum.... but mostly it feels to me like something is missing.... I don't do Facebook because it seems rather impersonal to me -- I'd rather keep in touch with good friends via email and snail mail.... and telephone.

The anonymity of the Forum is sort of fun. Most of us don't know who the other members really are. Could be that there are some famous people on here who enjoy not being recognized.

I don't own a cellphone so no texting for me, not that I want to. I prefer to hear the person's voice on the other end. My friends & I mostly communicate by "talking" on the phone, snail mail & occasionally meeting up for lunch or supper together (My hubby keeps the kids ). I love holding something tangible in my hands that I can keep forever.

I have been gone for nearly 3 weeks and apparently no one has missed me.

It was a few days shy of four weeks that I was gone before anybody noticed me either.

I think missing someone from the forum (for me) would depend on how often that person posts. I am a newbie here so I don't think I'd be missed yet!
Jerijet was here all the time, but when she left for a week, here absence was noticable to me, especially because we were talking to each other often before she took a break.
Scarlett... Keeper of shirtless hunky men!! (LOL) Carol, I love your keeper too!!

" Scarlett... Keeper of shirtless hunky men!! (LOL)" I am celebrating my love of men. Did you know that the 6 million dollar man would cost 31 million in today's monies to build? I didn't either. I LOVE MEN!!! Specially when they are blowing things up

Good point, Nicolle -- yes, if someone posts frequently and sometimes lengthy posts, their "disappearance" is more likely to be noticed sooner.... an occasional one-liner won't bring the hounds out 'til it gets cold and dark!!

I have been gone for nearly 3 weeks and apparently no one has missed me. Carol, I did notice you had gone! Now I feel bad for not saying anything. I had been looking at the top posters and noticed the last time you had posted and all.... awww shucks, I should'a mentioned something!

Well I notice too. Especially the frequent posters. I love you all, but guess I figured it wasn't my business if someone wanted to rake a break, so it never occurred to me to post a missing person bulletin. If the person is truly not on the Forum they wouldn't see it anyway would they?

True but they would when they return and see that they are listed in the missing persons folder like I did. I wasn't intending to make anyone feel bad however by not noticing. My comment was really meant to tease not make people feel bad..
