I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't like it. What does this mean if someone is following you. Like become a fan of your posts or something like that? I also had to change my password.

Also I liked looking at "birthdays today" so I could see if it was any of my friends' birthday. Do we still have that? Go to the bottom of the forum in the "Members" box, you will see a link to today's birthdays.

I hope people don't mind, but I just disabled quick reply. I did this because a quick reply box was showing up at both the top and the bottom of a thread, and it was getting on my nerves. If most of you want it back, I can enable it again. But it's really not that hard to just click "reply" at the end of a post.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm starting to like this new forum and all its new features. You can now add a link to your Facebook page and other social sites on your profile, if you want other forum members to find you on facebook. It will not be seen by non-forum members.

I would use "quick reply" alot. It did NOT have the preview option. If I wanted to add some icons, then I would modify the post after I posted it. We did have "preview" before - I always used it to check how my post would look, then you could either edit it right there before posting (and add the icons if desired), or simply post it without changing it. On whatever thread you were on, at the bottom it had "quick reply." All you could do was write your message & post it....no preview. But if you clicked on to the subject or quote....then you could post your reply with icons & be able to preview it before you posted it.

LovesLondon35 & Forum Administrator.......Thanks for your help. I see that at the top left corner now about the page number plus found the "birthdays." I am still a "dinosaur" in this computer age. My husband is in IT & when he tries to show me things (shortcuts & such), he gets a good laugh at my expense. It is hard for me to change the way I do things but I try sometimes. LOL! I still don't have a cellphone, do twitter, nor facebook, don't know how to text, etc....& as of right now I still don't want it.

Sorry but this new format looks like an elementary school student developed it. Upgraded to 10 years ago

Before it was some creepy egghead baby/alien looking thing! The forum administrator said that she had replaced it with something else. I like the "John Boy" alot better than what proboards had chosen.

just to say I think it's fine. things change (look at the new windows 8) and some take more getting used to. but at the end of the day it's still 'our' Walton place.

As someone else said, that is the new "default" profile pic that I added after getting some complaints about the one Proboards provided. You can change your avatar if you go to your profile and click on edit. You can choose another one, upload one of your own, or even choose to have no avatar at all if you like. By the way, Carolyn is not the Forum Administrator.

I have been researching how to remove the "Related Topics and Stories" at the bottom of each thread. Unfortunately it is not possible unless I upgrade to an ad-free forum. It is another form of advertisement for proboards. This advertising provides revenue to allow them to offer free forums.

It is another form of advertisement for proboards. This advertising provides revenue to allow them to offer free forums. I kinda like the "Related Topics..." -- have clicked on a few of the stories and found some interesting stuff... why were you trying to remove them? Oh, and BTW, I love the fact that the "Recent" area now has additional pages.... so things don't get buried as fast.... I also like the way your Earl Hamner quote changes frequently now. It's fun to read several during a log-in session. All in all, I'm liking the new format quite a bit.... hope it didn't create a bunch of additional work for you, Brenda.
