Whew! My delete and modify buttons have been busy this morning.  wmfan/waltonsportwriter asked about Champlain because he was truly interested in knowing what happened to her. It is not fair to him for anyone to hijack this thread in order to bring up things that happened many months ago, and it is certainly not the Walton way. The fact is, Champlain was a member of this forum under another name (janice). She asked me to delete her account, which I did at her request. However, I did not intend to delete her account, only to disable it, hoping she would change her mind. Then I could enable it again. But since I had deleted it, that was impossible, so I got her email address from another forum member and invited her to join the forum again, which she did under the name Champlain. She told me who she was, and after a day or two, she told the entire forum who she was, so it was not a matter of her trying to reidentify herself. The second time her account was deleted, she did it on her own. Thank you, catindakota, for letting us know that you hear from her occasionally and that she is okay. Champlain, if you are out there somewhere and can see this message, please know that you are welcome to join the forum again. To everyone: If there is a member of the forum who you feel that you can't get along with, please, just don't respond to their posts. If you feel that they have offended you in a post, please don't try to retaliate by posting an offensive answer to them. Just send me a message, and I will delete it or modify it. I have had forum members who have asked me to block certain users just because they disagreed with that person, or they didn't like that person's response to someone. I have never blocked any user who I felt was truly a Waltons fan. The only users I have blocked have been people who have posted spam or profanity. So don't ask me to block anyone unless they are guilty of one of those offenses (posting spam or profanity), because I'm not going to do it. Either learn to get along with that person, or ignore him/her. Thank you everyone for making this the great forum that it is. Now I am going to get ready to visit my little granddaughter's school and eat lunch with her. Please play nicely while I am away.  Brenda Edited to add: When I mentioned profanity, what I actually should have said is sexually explicit material. Most profanity is changed to a more suitable word by the forum software, so that it is not really a problem. |

We had a great time. Her school was having its annual Thanksgiving lunch (a little early), so there were lots of parents and grandparents there. She is in kindergarten, and she was so excited that I was at her school. She had to show me everything. The funny thing is, I actually taught at that school one year back in the 1980s.

I have two grandnephews and a grandniece and it steams me that they all live about 1,000 miles away from me. I loved it when the first two were fairly close by and available for playing/hugging !!

I have 8 grandchildren, and they all live nearby, so I get to see them often. It does get a little crazy when they are all here at the same time, though, usually on Sundays and holidays. There are 5 boys and 3 girls, ages 10, 6, 5, 2 (I have two of them!), 15 months, 12 months, and 8 months
I am so glad that I am retired now so I can visit their schools and take part in their activities. I missed a lot of that when my own kids were growing up. Such is the life of a working mom.

Many thanks for your interest, but I had recent eye surgery.
