You know, I will forever remember with fondness the laughter and humour of Grandpa/Grandma Walton...it just made my day, and one couldn't help but laugh...Will Geer had a distinct laugh , and it was contageous....
Ellen Corby's delivery in replying to his humour, well, that just made for a natural comedic team...
For the record, so were the Baldwins, Yancy,Ike and Corabeth..... ;D

I agree!!...In some of the scenes He seems to "egg" Ellen on!!!!

One of my favorite scenes in the whole series takes place after Grandpa is gone, and Grandma is helping Cindy adapt to married life. She points to a photo of Grandpa and says, "Old fool," then points to Ben and says, "Young fool." And then she hands Cindy a broom and some backbone!
