First off, hello to everyone! I'm glad to have found this forum! I always wondered why there were not more episodes with John-Boy and Jim-Bob interacting. I can only remember a couple of times they were central to the plot. Once was when Jim-Bob ran away and John-Boy found him and they had that wonderful scene in the coffee shop while eating ice cream and drinking tea. The other was when Jim-Bob thought he really wasn't a Walton and they had that nice talk up on the mountain when John-Boy said he always thought they looked alike. I have always thought there was some missed opportunities with these two. -samwise

Here is another story between John Boy and Jim-Bob is "The Great Motorcycle Race" where John-Boy tries to calm his mother by saying there is no way Jim Bob can get hurt because there is a sidecar on the bike. Jim Bob is soon seen by the family contradicting John-Boy’s statement by riding the motorcycle like an acrobat with the sidecar tipped up in the air. Jim-Bob tell John-Boy that he did sign up for the race and he try to talk him out of the race because John-Boy got hurt real bad on the motorcycle which they never show on the episode and thought Jim-Bob is being unfair to his mother while their Dad is away and Jim-Bob told John-Boy that he wouldn't tell his mother. Jim Bob tells his mother he has entered the race. She is upset with Jim Bob for doing this while John is away working at the Cramer place. Jim Bob tells her that he is “different from Ben, Jason, and John-Boy and is going to drive motorcycles and, someday, airplanes, too”. He adds, “You gotta understand, I’m growing up!” In the end, she agrees to let Jim Bob enter the race but reminds her youngest son “you just keep your eyes on the road”.
