The grandchildren

I'm having a lot of difficulties trying to keep up with what happened to all the grandchildren in the last few episodes.
What happened to Marry Ellen's son John Curtis and how did she have more children, because she had a hysterectomy after the car crash.
What happened to Ben and Cindy's children, they had a daughter and a son, then none and were adopting and then Cindy was gone too.
What happened to Roses grandchildren. I didn't miss them by the way.

The grandkids, except for Ben's little girl that died, and Cindy just went poof with no explanation. Rose's grandkids went back to their dad after he straightened up his life.

Did Mary Ellen actually have a hysterectomy? I thought she was told it could kill her if she attempted another pregnancy. I could be wrong.

She did not lose her uterus, but it was damaged in the accident she had. The doctor told her that it would be dangerous to attempt another pregnancy.
