If you look at the imdb on Todd Bridges, he was just starting Different Strokes in 1978, and perhaps we has busy filming something else and could not do Josh again. The Walton's replaced several actors...AJ Covington, Curt, etc. I don't think it was a matter of race.

It was a matter of race to the extent that the role called for a black boy. Didn't think that was what we were discussing here..... and had already discussed availability of the actors, etc. I started the thread with the "back and forth" aspect of two actors and questioning if one played trumpet..... And now, we need SAMBDA'S solution to the trivai question Sambda? Sambda? Are you there......

I know the difference between the two words. I said liberal and I meant liberal.

And now, we need SAMBDA'S solution to the trivai question Sambda? Sambda? Are you there...... I am indeed! The question was, name the only other character (apart from both Josh and Jodie) in "The Waltons" that has been played by 3 seperate actors. (I also discounted John-Curtis and Ginny because two of the three actors in each case were twins). The answer is: Nurse Nora Taylor. She is the horseback District/County nurse who interacts with Mary-Ellen from time to time. IIRC M-E takes her job over in the end.... Barbara Eda-Young in "The Nurse" Kaiulani Lee in "The Wedding" Nancy Priddy in "The Return" Boring now you know the answer, isn't it? In relation to the back-and-forwards changing of actor for Josh, there was another instance where this happened between two actors playing the same part, and that was Patsy Brimmer, who Ben dated. It went from one actress, to another, back to the 1st, then back to the 2nd, then back to the 1st - over her 5 appearances.
